Hi Everyone!,

Just wanted to ask some questions and see if anyone knows the answers before I book flights and leave Australia for Canada!.

I received my COPR confirmation along with my CSQ for Quebec. I havn't received a Canada Immigration Visa. I would say this is because Australia is Visa Exempt for Canada and USA. My question however, is will all I need to land in Canada be my COPR confirmation document, along with my CSQ document, and my Australian Passport, will that be sufficient?. I just want to make sure.

I was also wondering with booking a way one ticket to the U.S then onto Canada, the travel agent said that I have to be a Canadian Citizen for them to book me a one way ticket to Canada, I was thinking the COPR would be sufficient, so does that mean I would have to book online?, how would that work?. My plans are to stay in the U.S for a week before heading up to Canada.

I will email the Consulate General of Canada to confirm all of this. I know however that CIC recently changed the procedure for Visa Exempt Countries whereby they don't require you to send in your passport which I didn't need to do. I'm thinking the COPR acts as a Visa itself as everything is recorded on the 2 barcodes on the COPR. Hope this all makes sense as I just want to make sure I land without any problems. :) The other thing is without asking for a PPR it speeds up the process but can be a bit confusing if this is all I need.

hiiii dreamcatcher :) yes it is like what u said; from what i know they don't ask for ppr from visa exempt countries; copr is enough to land and for u copr + csq (original) and the valid passport of course

also to avoid headache there u would need to fill in from before a list with ur goods (categories, not really one by one; but if u bring in fency electronics for example then it's better to describe them, write any serial number for the computer, laptop, iGadgets, etc); like this u will b exempted from any duty; also if u have any goods which will follow u, then u'll need the "goods to follow list" as well which will b stamped on the day u landed (again this will help not pay any duty for those)

i find it really stupid that the travel agent won't book u a one-way trip; i never heard of that before >:( canada is not a country where ppl started to immigrate yesterday, there r soo many pr's landing every day and they all have one way tickets or maybe they don't believe anyone from Australia wants to immigrate there ::) anyway either find another travel agency or try to book online

cheers

We got DM on E-CAS today :-) However, E-CAS did not change my wife's address to the Canadian address as of yet. Is this something to worry about? We had no interview request and no request for additional information. I hope everything is ok.

Also, in how many days can we expect her passport? Someone please respond. Thanks.

Heello people what does the embassy require of you if you go personally to collect passport after being called to go collect???

can anyone tell me that is this no. from embassy 011-7163-8300, as i got the call today from this no. but i could not receive this call ,pls tell me if anyone know abpout this

Sorry to spam 3 forum threads with the same message, but I am just excited to see the DM and wanna ask some experts about this...

A DM is showing on my wife's E-CAS status this morning.

"A decision has been made on XXXX's application. The office will contact XXXX concerning this decision."

However, her address did not get updated to my Canada address. It's still showing her India address. Does this mean we can expect the Passport with PR VISA now?

If this is the case, any idea how long will it be before the Passport arrives (ND to Mumbai)?

My time line can be seen on the left.
