1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 16, 2015.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on February 27, 2015. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3. We started processing your application on March 10, 2015.

From Edmonton. I now see that Edmonton is even slower than Calgary lol

Edmonton has nothing to do with that. Your application is still in Sydney untill you see the 4th step (transferred to Edmonton)

I said that because applications sent from Calgary on the same date that I sent mine were transferred to the Calgary office before mine was. I know Edmonton has nothing to do with it, tho it IS one of the slowest offices in the country

Don't want to lower the moral but may be this will help us in fine-tuning our expectations a little bit........

For December 2014 applications, till now 85% applications have been processed but they have 36 % of applications which have reached 'File Transferred' stage

For January 2015 applications, till now 93.33% applications have been processed but they have only 17% of applications which have reached 'File Transferred' stage

Shows that CIC has slowed a bit !

Regardless, let's stay optimistic, you never know when the gears could get shifted for better ............

Good to know Toronto is moving! :)

It definitely is good to hear that a Toronto Applicant got to In Process, hopefully more will start going in, seems about one month to go from AoR received to in Process

I'm not quite a month yet from AOR, so I guess I'm just getting a little antsy.

seeing other getting AORs faster than ourselves, transferred to local office updates left and right etc does cause a bit of anxiousness.

seeing our friends from 2011 and 2012 applicants still awaiting on their test dates, will make us think twice about being anxious...

patience my friend...

I disagree with your second statement, because of the following reasons:

1. You cannot compare the processing timeline of an applicant who paid 400$ with an applicant who paid 630$.
2. The increase in citizenship fees is actually meant to speed up the entire process, not just one part of it.
3. We have a new minister now who is supposed to learn from the old minister's mistakes.
