Jan 2013 intake(Carleton and Concordia)

Hi,

I have applied for master's(ECE) in Concordia, Carleton and Mcmaster for this jan 2013 intake.It's been 2 months since the submission of my application. 10 days back mcmaster rejected my application. Still waiting for replies from other 2 universities.

My Info:

10th : 93%
12th : 59%
diploma in ECE : 93%
B.E(ECE) : 70%
IELTS:6.5(L:7.5,S:6.5,R:6.5,W:6)
I have 2 years experience

Still didn't get any reply from them. Fingers crossed. Whether my profile is ok for those universities?? Or whether i have to look for some other universities??

what was ur work exp..wat ir related to ur field or was it IT?

a GRE would have got u thru mac to !!

ur profile should crack the other uni's mentioned..hope for the best bro!!

for concordia make sure you have applied for course bases not thesis based....

thats the problem mate...if u were a cs student applying for a masters in CS with 2 years of work ex!!
it would have been icing on the cake...

nw just think abt it its been 2 years sinc eu graduate as an enginner in electronics and since ur then u r working in
the IT industry....u would have lost touch with ur core EC subjects as well + that experience is of no use for obvious reasons.

thats the reason i advice people not to take IT experience if they wana pursue Masters in a diff field...m sayin this on the basis of
a discussion with a university advisor....!!

i have applied for thesis based..but alternatively chosen course based for back-up.. but what's d problem with thesis based course in concordia??

for thesis based ...u will be admitted only if some professor is impressed with your profile and s/he is ready to assist you...but that is very difficult since u have not done any research work...so its better u take course based program and get admitted....

McMaster is bit on higher side.
you will surely get into Concordia
and chances are there in Carleton as well. but I tell you Concordia is very good in ECE you will enjoy there and gain alot.

Hey,

With this profile, you will get admission in course based Masters in both Carleton and Concordia, easily. If you have applied for thesis based MS then your chances are bleak because in thesis based MS you have to have a supervisor and getting supervisor is not easy.
