1. check against the NOC list when it will be released in the next few months, if its not listed then AEO is your only route.
2. if your NOC is listed then check your roles performed against whats listed for that NOC in the HSRDC website. You should have done atleast 80% of the duties listed .
3. check if the experience letters issued will prove point 2 ! ( your experience is irrelevant if you cannot prove that you have performed most of the roles listed in form of experience letters !!)

hi,

IT professionals (at least project manager) are eligible as per my last discussion with one of the consultant of Canadavisa.com.I am working as IT project manager. You should check your profession.

Good luck.

As we currently understand it, with the new intake in May 2013 people with experience in ANY NOC 0, A or B type job will be eligible, as long as they can show at least 1 year's continuous work experience and meet the other points, language and funding criteria.

So IT professionals are "eligible" in the same sense that any other NOC 0, A or B occupation will be eligible.

BUT there will likely be a fairly low overall cap, maybe 5000 although it's not confirmed yet, so competition for these places will be high. IMO applicants will need to have their applications received within the first few weeks, maybe even the first few days, to have a chance of getting within the cap.

You'd be advised to start gathering supporting documentation immediately (IELTS test score, education certificates and University transcripts in sealed envelopes, work experience letters etc). IELTS test in particular may take a few months to schedule, so now would be a good time to start! :)

Best of luck,
Wayne.
