Is this offer valid?

Hi,

I am from Bangladesh. I am planning to go Canada on work-permit visa. Here a local recruitment agent has offered me a offer.

I want know if his offer is valid or legal in Canada as he is asking for some advanced payment of the total cost. How would I know if the agent is not fraud and it will bring a job offer letter from a legitimate employer from Canada? His offer is quoted as following:

Job: Computer operator
Processing time : maximum 7 months.
Salary : 2000-2500 Canadian Dollar.
Job contact : 2 years.
After 2 years, you can renew your visa also apply for PR.
Total costing : 9 lac taka.
Advance payment: 4 lac taka.
Food, Living & Medical are free.
You will get A / C pay cheque against your advance payment from the Company.
Job location : Toronto.
Possibility to get LMO 95%
Possibility to get visa 99%if you get LMO Then.

I was not aware that "Computer operator" was a skill that was in short supply amongst the citizen/PR population.
The 95% chance of getting an LMO seems optimistic at best.

So Should I ask for an interview with the employer before paying anything in advanced? And how would I know if the interviewer is not fake also on the other side in Canada?

Although if they do not arrange for an interview right now, they may do it after paying some in advance, as they might give some guarantee to refund my advance payment if they fail to get LMO/visa for me. as they are talking about some A/C account.

After seeing that ad, I asked if there is any job for IT based, and he said, yes, and that's a post of a computer operator's job.

My "ScamOMeter" is going off like crazy.....

This is absolutely a scam. The job posting makes no sense and zardoz's findings confirm this company was set up recently which further supports this is a scam. The latin displayed on the web pages is also a dead giveaway this is a scam. This is very frequently a "feature" of scam web sites.

Don't give them any money.

If you do give them money, you will never see that money again and you will end up with no job in Canada at the end.

Thank you all of you. Yes this domain registry check ensures it's scam. Also I asked him the following question through email, and then he stopped replying further.

1. So after two year how much would I have to spend to renew my visa? And how many times I will be permitted to renew that job?
2. What exactly the purpose of A / C pay cheque? How can it help me if I do not get positive LMO? How that 4 lakh could be refundable, or how much of that 4 lakh?

3. Can I pay the rest 5 lakh or some of total 9 lakh cost after going into Canada from my salary?
4. How can I be confirmed that my employer and his offer is valid and legitimate before paying in advance?

5. How long is the work hour?
6. Can I change my employer after two years and get work permit under another employer?
7. Is it possible to get PR after 2 years?

I am happy I did not believe them without asking valid questions. I see many such scams are here too posting on local buy/sell or craiglist sites. This country is full of frauds and scams.

But some are offering all payments after getting confirm visa, may be they are legit. Let's see how they response after asking about the employers in Canada.

We have heard of some people suspecting that the actual visa in their passports is also faked, along with known fake LMO documents. This is difficult to check out until you are in front of a CBSA officer, who then tells you if it's a fake or not. You can guess what happens if it is...

Ok I have another question.

Is there any possibility or way to get work permit for any UNSKILLED worker legally? Here some are offering jobs in Hotel in Canada and all payments are after getting visa. I am not sure if they are not fraud also. And I am not sure if Canada takes Unskilled or inexperienced workers in any condition.

Actually, I do not have the related experience with my academic Background (MBA + Hons.) because of the scarcity of job opportunities here .

As you can see, it's very difficult. Beware of the "Hotel in Canada" jobs as well. many of those are known, proven, scams. Usually the first you hear about them is an email to you. Basically, keep trying but if you are at all unsure, ask here...
