I was told to go for an interview at the Canadian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

I don't want to go due to cost reasons.

Is there anyone who has missed their interview with the
Immigration Canada for a spousal sponsorship application.

If you did, was your application automatically refused?

Is there anyone who didn't go for their interview but was granted PR?

The result of missing your Interview is automatic refusal of your PR application , it's best to go .

Pretty sure your letter already states that it will be automatically refused. And it sounds like they are questioning the relationship if you are getting an interview. So that would really look bad if you didn't show up.

Try to go.
As mentioned missing it would be automatic denial of pr.

This is the email I got

The examination of your application includes a personal interview with a visa officer. You are requested to appear for a personal interview at the Canadian Embassy in Ankara on 14 February 2017 at 2:30PM.

This letter must be presented to the Embassy receptionist on the day of your interview.

At the interview, you must present valid passports for yourself and any accompanying family member. Please also bring the originals of documents marked on the below list, as well as the originals of any documents that you have already submitted.

Please confirm within 5 days via e-mail if you can attend the interview or not. You are also required to reconfirm the language(s) you are capable of being interviewed in. Please note that if you indicated one of: Russian; Georgian; Farsi; or Arabic, an interpreter will be arranged for you. Please do not ask us to confirm the interpreter, we will not respond to such inquiries. If you do not speak Russian, Georgian, Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, English or French you must bring a certified interpreter with you to the interview. The officer will not undertake the interview if the interpretation is not adequate. Please note that immigration consultants, sponsors and relatives will not be allowed to interpret for applicants.

If you have not already done so, you may ask your sponsor to pay your right of permanent residence fee (RPRF). Failure to do so will delay the processing of your application.

If you are intending to reside in the Province of Quebec, please ensure that you have requested a Certificate de Selection du Quebec (CSQ). Failure to do so will delay the processing of your application.

Please note that if you fail to appear for this interview the examination of your application will be completed based on the material available in your application. This could result in the refusal of your application.

Thanks everyone for chiming in with your advice...I highly appreciate it

If I get refused. Can I just start another application right away?

I can do the next one "Inland", cause im currently living in Canada.

I did the current one "outland".

If I do get refused, will it affect the outcome of the "inland" application I submit?

Why would you want to miss the interview?
If you do your application and any future applications will get rejected.

Based on the letter it does sound semi optional. If you really cannot afford the trip...you could write back telling them that and you could try providing more proof of your relationship to help your case. Being outland, you have the right to appeal a refusal decision.

I have asked them to move it to Canada or USA, but they said no.

I mentioned cost was the main reason, but they didnt respond to that.

Lets see.

All I want to know is if there is anyone who has missed the interview?

And if yes, what happened next?

I don't think you will find someone who has missed the interview. If you are serious about your application, you will not miss the interview!!!

The app will be refused.

If you can't go to the interview, then withdraw your outland app now and reapply inland.

Hi ,
judging from your other thread , you seems to be currently living in Canada , why don't you inform CIC and request the interview to be done in Canada ?

give it a try Bro .

IMHO, if you tried to get them to change location of the interview and it is/was not granted then you should just attend the interview and get it over with.

The fees for the new application is around 1000$, a little less than a round trip to Ankara but then you don't have to prepare new kit of whole application and not wait another year.
