Hi everyone,
My Belgian boyfriend is in Ontario with me currently on a working holiday visa valid for 1 year (not extendable). Once we have been living together for 12 months, I will sponsor him under the common-law sponsorship. The thing is, when we submit the sponsorship, his working holiday visa will expire making me the only source of income. However I am attending school full time and will only have a part time job that makes maybe 800$ a month. This isn't a problem since we have plenty of savings and won't need any financial assistance.

However what I am worried about is that they will reject the application because I can't prove that I have a stable, livable income. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I put school on hold and get a full time job?

Is there even a low income cut off for a common-law sponsorship with no kids?

No. Just send a letter explaining how you will support each other + your savings statement etc

You can send an open work permit with your application. So he can resume work once you get that back. There is option on the checklist to include the work permit and they suggest you place it near the top of your pile. Hope this helps

There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor your partner. Show your savings and a plan of how you will support yourselves.
