Hi

I have crossed 40 months still no reply. And no it does not depend on how strong your RQ evidence is because they have not reviewed the file yet. My backrgound checks have expired and they need to redo it and then the RQ will be reviewed. I know that the background checks are expired from the ATIP report. Did your background checks ever expire? You will know this if you had asked for a ATIP report when you were waiting. Maybe you finished in 30 months because the background checks did not expire or got redone faster in your case. And I assume your RQ was at St clair.
Based on what you say it does not depend on how strong RQ evidence is. We are all under assumption here. If RQ evidence is clear and well supported, I think it will be processed faster than the one with missing documents and stuff.

Yes, background check can be an issue as well.

Those, who wait longer than 36 months - why don't you file for mandamus?

Sure if the RQ evidence is strong and well supported, it will be faster and CJ hearing will not be reqd. But most of the RQ's waiting for 35+ months, atleast mine is not reached to the review stage. The point is the delay right now at this stage is not because of how good the RQ response is, but due to the pending background checks.

I am in the same boat, applied in October 2010 did the test at Scarborough in 2012, was told to submit cbsa report, since then have only heard that I would have to attend a hearing. My atip report indicates that I passed the test. The last update the cic office gave me was that the judge hearing would only commence within 24-36 months from last interaction, which is test.

Processed in 4 1/2 months??? Amazing...
Yeah luck was on my side.
Always had issues with government applications;
a. PR application under CEC category took 1.5 years (normal is 6 months) due to interview.
b. PR for wife was delayed as well due to carelessness of CIC officials who sent passport request to us for someone else.

This is a good change :)

It might have something to do with the legal fees you quoted in that thread. But could you imagine if everyone who has been waiting longer than 36 months filed for mandamus at once?

Could you please tell us where? Its much more helpful to post a location along with your timeline.

This is scandalously short. Its good news for you, but infuriating for those us who have been waiting for years.........

congratulation, your timeline is even shorter than mine, I applied August 1st 2013 did my test on Feb, 05 and still waiting for oath my location is in Scarborough.
though, my husband applied in 2011 Oct, did his test May 2013 right after the test he was asked for an RQ which he submitted sometimes in Jun 2013, until today no update on anything.
