Is sending additional documents with the citizenship application good idea?

Hi,

I would like to know if there is any well documented post open for this question or not?(question in subject)
What is your opinion on sending additional documents such as notice of assessement for the last 3 years, CBSA report, Work certificates, T4s, along with the citizenship application?
Is there anyone who sent one or more of this additional documents listed above in the forum? and what was your outcome with that if your application has been finished yet?
Did someone who sent these kind of documents, received RQ or experienced a long process case?
Did someone who sent these kind of documents, feels that it helped to speed up his application processing time?
Do you think that CIC agent will look and analyse additional documents or just put aside?
Please if you can answer these questions, do it and please explain in detail if possible?

Well, CIC agents claim that they don't want more documents, however, If you think that something is not clear in your application, add a letter to explain !

I totally understand the agents who don't want to receive huge piles of documents, so just make sure to have a VERY clear application, with very CLEAR dates... reread it 20 times, if you find something weird or hard to understand just from going through the application, then probably, a CIC official will have the same doubts while going through it too !

But my point was not about doubtful application. I thinks mine will be clear.
But the question is there any pros and cons for sending additional documents?
For example, if someone see that he has an RQ trigger or RQ risq indicator in his application, would sending additional documents will help him make clear and avoid RQ?
and there is a lot of questions in the first post? Please answer the others as well.

Well, I can only answer the questions I have answers to !

Again, this is speculation based on the experience of those who are here on the forum, nobody really knows, I know that you are asking this question in order to try and avoid the RQ, I asked the same question before sending my application.

The answer again is to send a clear application, nobody knows what the new RQ triggers are, but some triggers are obvious ( like not living in Canada... having spent a lot of time in another country for whatever reason...etc..) So if you feel that you have to explain a point, just write a letter ( in a way not to ring the RQ bell in the officials head...) to explain, remember that trying to justify something that is obvious is going to probably trigger an RQ... just don't say " Please don't send me an RQ" in any of your letters...

CIC agent will probably look at whatever you will send, how he will judge the documents is another story.

When you call CIC, they say " Send what is required and if you feel like sending a letter... then do, but at your own risk"

I have all documents needed in RQ and I will simply copy them and send them back in 24 hours. bank statements, certificate of employment, T4, Rental Agreement,etc...
But sending those documents with my application? will help or not?
If I just have the power to vanish, I will just go look at CIC agent working on some cases and their procedures. :'(

Listen to your heart, send all that you have. If it ain't gonna do any good, at least it ain't gonna hurt you.

Well if they RQ, they will already have the documents, so he/she will just have to wait.

So basically a saving of 45 days I should say.

Well that wouldn't happen. Any supporting documents sent in as part of the application, will have to be retained.

If you send in originals, yeah they will be returned to you. If you send in photocopies, they won't be returned.

Discarded? No it won't be. How can anyone possibly know. Even if the photocopies are returned, thats fine. At least the person will get to know that it didn't get used.

I think in order to understand CIC procedures. you have to read this document.

Take a close look at the end of page 2. And you will see that CIC is not the jungle. Maybe they are overwhelmed by applications.
but there is procedures to follow.
And as you know, you can double check if your documents were thrown in trash or not.
By just sending an access to information form to CIC coordinator and you will get a copy of your documents they have.
The question, I keep asking myself is :
Do someone know, an applicant who sent additional information and what is the outcome?

Post Nov 2013 application forms amended to fine tune/ better match most aspects of the citizenship act so it usually only serves a 'peace of mind' to include additional documentation. There is always a quality vs quantity angle to the documentation required and depending on your situation you could find your documents not only get disregarded but could flag up additional concerns. There is no 100% way to avoid an RQ since you can get one for quality assurance/ program integrity reasons but your odds of avoiding one are linked to not having any of the triggers such as unemployment/ self employment with travel. If you have these triggers how does a NOA prove presence?? It doesn't but it could be a possible +ive in a matrix of other active proof such as medical notes confirming you were admitted to A+E on days, x, y, z in 2013.

I don't have the 2 RQ triggers you talked about. but I am in the B1 trigger (child born outside canada while I was sponsoring my wife, and they came 1 year and half ago, they are PR now).
I was employed all the 4 years period.
RQ for QOS, they send a letter along with the RQ and the percentage is not that noticeable.
