Like the OP, I would like to hear from people that have submitted additional documents on the initial application - and whether if they got an RQ or not. What has your experience been?

Everyone in this topic,

Before I sent my application in Jan 2014, I asked CIC agent if I may send additional documents and he said NO CLEARLY.

So I skipped the idea of putting all residency proof related documents but however I provided 1 additional document for following reasons.

The day I came to Canada for the first time to apply for my PR Card, the same day I returned to USA.

After 2 months when I finally moved permanently to Canada and entered through canada border because I had my PR card, I did not get stamp on my passport so I did not have any proof on Passport that I came back on that day.

However I have this Goods to follow list with CBSA stamp with entry date so I include this document and submit a note about this explaining the situation.

So, if there is something specific where you feel that CIC will suspicious about in and out or anything else, you can just put additional document to proof that.

Just would like to share my process to get you an idea.

Thanks

thanks for sharing your idea Canadp.
I want also to join my work certificates for the years period and Avis de decision of RQAP because I went out of canada for a paternity leaver for 22 weeks.
Just to make sure the guy that will analyse my application, to let him see clearly that I was here. If he needs more than it will be provided.

There is nothing wrong in sending additional supporting documents - makes it easy for the Officer to review and process your application... But be moderate and reasonable...

Well if they RQ, they will already have the documents, so he/she will just have to wait.

So basically a saving of 45 days I should say.
i disagree with you...if RQ is requested...she/he will need to submit all documents again.
Better to keep all original documents. And why would print all banks statements and documents for the past for years to include in an application that does not request for it. Whats the point? Avoid RQ, i don't think it's reasonable to explain like that. haha 45 days will not be saved as he/she also needs to spend 45 days to prepare all additional documents, same amount of time if RQ requested.

I don't know why everyone is talking about RQ like a monster.
When we fill as an applicant the citizenship application, we mention that we for example worked a period of time. If I just enclose the Certificate of Work, is it harmful. I didnt talked about bank statements or a tone of documents. I didnt talked about sending original documents also. And who needs to spend 45 days to prepare additional documents, I have them all right now. Nothing to prepare. Please read before writing no sense informations. Don't waste your time for void informations. Thanks
