Is police clearance needed from your country of origin to apply for CEC within Canada. I know we need RCMP but do we need PCC too?

Thanks

You need a PCC for every country you have ever lived in for at least 6 months since the age of 18, EXCEPT Canada.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

CIC will automatically conduct a name-based check for ALL applicants. Only if the name-based check is not cleared, then CIC will request that you do an RCMP check. Unless & until asked, you do NOT need to do it, no matter how long you have been in Canada.

jes_ON is right. You may need PCC from your own country but you do not need one for Canada. Check out the link below for your country.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

I didn't submit RCMP thing and CIC didn't request at all.

PCC from your native country is a must. PCC from Canada is not.
PCC from Canada (RCMP fingerprint check) can be done, IF CIC asks you do it.

Read: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp

This is the most important link regarding CEC application - The guide!

"Police certificates: These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18....The certificate must have been issued no more than three (3) months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator.

We will also do our own background checks to determine if there are grounds under which you and your dependents may be inadmissible to Canada."

To apply PCC, you need to submit your passport. I guess you passport would be with you in Canada. Hence you should apply from here. It takes 4-6 weeks time, even few people got it in 5 days also....

Planning in DEC 2015
how much time will CIC give to applicant for submitting PCC once asked for the same ?
As different countries take different time for processing and if by the time CIC ask to submit and PCC is not done then what will happen?
will CIC give enough time ?
