Hi all, I withdrew my visa application last march for common-law partner and am re-applying again. Has the processing times changed because of COVID-19? On the IRRC website it says 12 months for both INLAND and OUTLAND. Do you feel that Outland is still faster? I've spoken with an immigration consultant that told me that she feels outland for spousal still might be a bit faster, however she's also experienced in the past two months with clients applying for inland work visas (non-spousal) getting them a lot faster than usual. I know they're not really the same thing but I am curious.

Thanks

Are you Japanese citizen?
Go to the website called jpcanada.
You can check a lot of information about Japanese applicants from Inland and outland. If your application goes to Manila office as an outland aplicatnt, it takes about 8 months to 12 months.

In general, outland is not faster than inland (it could be true a few years back). If you could apply for inland, then I suggest that you apply for inland to avoid long time waiting and separation.

Thank you for the info. Where did you see this information? I'd like to read take a look. I've always been told Outland is faster than Inland but I'm guessing it's changed too. Thanks!

Outland is generally faster IMO by looking at the tracking sheets. Right now with Covid neither way is fast.

As said above, outland is generally faster but with COVID-19 delays, no one can say what will happen to processing times for the next while.

Posted processing times were before Covid. Doubt they will change the posted processing times. Times are always estimates. You should apply for what makes for you both as a couple. Many don’t have an option and must apply outland.

It used to be significantly faster. Maybe that is what you are referring two. There was an attempt to make both processing times similar.
