nah bro,

I applied paper based. I think if i'll wait there are 50-50 chance, So it's better if I contact CIC right now

Btw, if I don't show my LOI at airport, what could happen? There is visa stamp on my passport.

thanks man.
if u got email check if there is anything attached,, I dont know what will happen if u dont show LOI at POE... but I wont suggest that because this is the first thing they ask for ...

I have checked my e-mail so many times man. nothing.

I have emailed CIC chd, lets wait for their reply.

hey man, i have the same problem too, how do you email CIC? I don't seem to find any way to email them. I tried sending an case specific enquiry but no reply, also emailed the embassy here and there is no reply at all. I tried calling The call centre they have in canada but nothing. the embassy is not picking up the phone, and the VAC is not being helpful at all. what email did you use? did you email your embassy? i applied online, but got my visa stamped through the embassy in amman , jordan.

The documents you need to enter Canada
The CBSA officer will ask to see your travel documents when you arrive in Canada. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada.

You should be ready to show the following documents:

a valid passport or travel document
the letter of introduction from the visa office that you received when your study permit was approved (this letter contains your permit reference number and the CBSA officer needs this letter to issue your study permit)
a valid temporary resident visa (if required)
a copy of the letter of acceptance from the designated learning institution at which you are accepted to study
proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada and
letters of reference or any other documents recommended by the visa office where you applied.

these are the docs u will require at POE,,, Just in case u dont know,,,

hey man,

I sent an email to CIC chandigarh with "URGENT URGENT" written in my subject line, you could try the same and mention your flight date in your email too. This would impact them. Center and VAC won't help you, VAC is just a mode between you and embassy. The call center receptionist won't help you, I don't know for what reason she/he have the job for.

The best bet is to email them again and again.

Hope we get the LOI soon.

so far i have sent emails to 3 different places hopefully i will get a reply soon. This is my second time entering canada and last year i had no problem with the letter of introduction or anything. This year a lot of people have not been getting their letter of introduction. I am really nervous i wont get it in time.

@sharjeel91 :

My friend went to Canada in 2012, he told me they don't ask for letter of introduction. Immigration officer need your passport stamped and the other documents you mentioned.

If the LOI is so important, then why embassy don't send it to the approved students.

@zm95:

I saw one of the senior member mentioned that LOI is just a cover letter, moreover I read on CIC official website that this is just a notification your visa has been approved. It is not a study permit/TRV.

The only TRV the immigration officer need is the passport stamped to assign you the study permit.

This is my theory.

yeah thats what the embassy told me "its just a cover letter" but they did ask for it last year i am 100% sure they did. I have a TRV too and I'm pretty sure they can get our info using the UCI in our TRV as it says on the website "the UCI gives access to your complete information".

I don't understand why it takes so long to arrive. My friend applied online last year and he got it attached in an email. last year i applied through VAC and i also got it attached in an email.

yeah man.

We have the UCI number, they can track the details from there. If there is any problem.

Your LOI contains a document number which is mentioned only on your LOI,, starts with Fxxxx like this,,, this number will be on the top of ur study permit,, also known as reference number so that is why i suggest to get one

The document number is mentioned on my TRV.

That is the main number from where they track all our details.
