Hey guys,

Hope you are all well. I have submitted my citizenship application on May. I am still waiting for AOR.

I try to avoid international travels, but it seems I have to travel internationally for personal reasons for about 1 week around the month of September. Is it safe to travel while your application is being processed?

Is it going to affect the 'number of days stayed in Canada' ? I do however have a buffer of 40 days so I am guessing 1 week outside of Canada will not have a negative impact.

Please provide any other applicable advice. Much appreciated.

Once you sign and submit your application, you technically only need to maintain your PR residency obligations. Therefore, travelling, specially short-term as yours is absolutely fine. The only risk is the getting a test date or oath date while you're away. You can however reschedule test/oath dates at the cost of a few months delay in your application.

Specific to your case, I think you have no reason to worry, specially if you're in GTA, applications are taking longer to process, so you will likely not receive test date this year (just speculation).
