First thread was removed and I'm not sure why, I'd just like to get insight before I go through with my renewal.

So my PR card expired in June 2021 and I last arrived in Canada on the May 21st 2021 and have been here since then. I was Also in Canada from June 7th 2019 - July 23rd 2019 and August 14th 2019 - September 7th 2019.

So my days in Canada in the last 5 years in total are: 751 the thresholds 730.

So with that in mind I figured it's very reasonable to renew my PR card (I would like to visit my home country England, it's been a long time).

However on the application it says that my time outside of Canada must not exceed 1095 days within the last 5 years (Ugh). So from the 7th of September 2019 to May 21st 2021 = 621 days outside of Canada and before then July 23rd 2019 - August 13th 2019 = 21 days and before then was 2nd of April 2018 to June 7th 2019 431 days (note: I was in England before 2nd April 2018 date but as we're going from the last 5 years I assume it is correct to put this as the start date - correct me if I'm wrong). So in total that's 1073 days outside of Canada within the last 5 years.

Would it be safe to renew my PR with all of this information? I want to go home in time for my birthday in the next couple of months and not being able to leave for a visit has been a little mentally taxing but I want to get this right and make sure this goes through smoothly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don’t quite understand your concern because one calculation is just the flip side of the other, and you appear to have a 20 day or so buffer?

Based on the information you've provided and your own calculations, you are fine to apply to renew your PR card now. (I have not recalculated your numbers.)

However keep in mind that the PR obligation is a rolling requirement. This means you need to meet it at any given time (not just when you are renewing your PR card).

It's quite possible you will need to apply for a PRTD in order to return to Canada. At the time you apply for the PRTD, you'll want to make sure you meet the residency requirement in the previous five years from the date of the PRTD application. You will obviously lose more days from 2018 as time passes. So you need to keep that in mind when you consider traveling outside of Canada and how long you plan to remain outside of Canada. If you plan to apply for the PR card now and then leave, then by my calculations, you'll no longer meet the residency requirement after a few weeks outside of Canada. This may make it problematic to get a PRTD to return to Canada. The other option is to fly to the US and then re-enter Canada through a land border using a private vehicle.

Long story short, you'll end up no longer meeting the residency requirement if you leave before May 21st and then remain oustide of Canada for a few months (by my calculations). The way to play this super safe is to remain in Canada until after May 21st and only leave then.

This will be gone quickly on a rolling basis. Could cause issues if the OP is outside of Canada for a few months and needs a PRTD to return (and at that point is out of compliance with RO).

But the oldest presence OP is counting towards the RO is from June 2019, which wouldn’t fall out of the rolling 5-year window before June 2024. So this wouldn’t become a problem at any point this year.

Ah - you're right. I misread the dates.

Short form: sure, apply now, no issue. As long as you remain IN Canada until May 21, 2023 (i.e. ~7 weeks more), you will be fine, and after May 21, you can safely return to UK for a visit or whatever. Because you will have 'banked' 730 days in Canada (May '21 to May '23), you will thereafter be good until ~ May 20, 2026. (Whatever day will make it 1095 days out of Canada)

Note, if you leave before you have received your new PR card, you will have to either get the PR card couriered to you, apply for a PRTD, or return via land border (eg USA). You shouldn't have any problem with any of those approaches, just not clear which will work most quickly / least expense.

Note, it really gets much more tedious to deal with if you depart before May 21 this year.

(Do your own math and double-check your math!)

Seriously plan your return through land entry, you may not receive your card in time even you ask for emergency process.
