Is it possible to land at a later point in time?

I have finally received my CoPR. While waiting I have had already booked a flight to Canada to visit friends in a month before I received my CoPR. I will not be ready to move in a month and my CoPR is valid until summer 2015

I am trying to figure out if I can simply enter Canada as a visitor in a month (I am from a visa exempt country) and land at a later point in time? Is this possible or do I have to land the first time I am entering Canada after I received my CoPR?

If I have to land in a month will it be okay for me to leave the country again after two weeks not returning before March/April or will this be an issue?

You can do this. However, you might wish to consider the option of "landing" when you visit, then returning home to settle your affairs there before finally making the giant leap. You could offer your friends address for the PR Card delivery. They can then send it on to you when it eventually arrives. This would save you having to wait for it and you avoid the risk of the COPR expiring before you can land, through no fault of yours (Icelandic volcano for example).

As stated above, it will be best to just do the landing formalities here and give a friend's address for the PR card and then go bk and settle your affairs before you move back here permanently. It is possible to land at a later time but it ill be in your best interest to do it whiles here for that short time considering it wont take that long of a time to do.

soucyyyy,

One thing to consider if you land "early" is to fill out your "Goods to Follow" documentation completely before you land, being certain to list all of your possessions that you will be importing into Canada at a later date. A copy of this list will be kept on file when you land - and the items will be crossed off when you bring them in later. It took me quite some time (in excess of a year) to bring everything on my list from the U.S. into Canada and I learned that documents can go into storage after a while, so be sure to have a copy with you when you do the actual importations(s).

Congratulations and welcome to Canada!
