Is it possible to change January intake to September after receiving study permit?

Visa application filed for January intake 2021. Can I use the same permit after deferring course to September? Should I inform ircc about the deferral with new LOA (if I already have approved permit in hand)? Will it make problems at Port Of Entry?

No bro. I read somewhere that we should reapply for study permit if there is a gap of more than 150 days or so. Confused

You need to update to IRCC if the gap is more than 150 days.

"1/4 Hi. A deferral in start-date is between you and your DLI. It shouldn’t affect your study permit application, though if you defer your start-date by 150 days or more, you’ll need to send us a new acceptance letter from your DLI."

This is what IRCC replied on twitter for a similar query.

I don't think we have to apply for a new student visa, but I don't know the exact steps, I am still confused about the process.
