Oh no worries at all! I am very grateful for your time to even read my post and give very valuable insights! It means a lot to me, so thank you! I actually applied through SDS last May 13th, but unfortunately there is no movement. My medical passed has been reflected at GCKEY last June 2nd but the "reviewing eligibility" hasn't even started. Thus, I am managing expectations because I personally know of 2 other more sds applicants who have been waiting for ongoing 5 months already.

If I may clarify further sir, does this mean it's acceptable to withdraw from school while student permit is ongoing or no outcome yet? The only reason I am withdrawing and then re-applying again to the same university and program is because the university don't offer deferral. So essentially it will be the same DLI but I think I won't have any deferral letter to show instead a new LOA for either winter / fall 2022 intake.

If I am able to secure the new LOA before my student permit is approved, I can just send it via webform to IRCC to update my student permit?

On the other hand, if my student permit gets approve first before I am able to secure the LOA, since it will be the same DLI and program - I don't need to update IRCC prior to entering to Canada since my visa is approved already? Or I still need to send it via webform?

Thanks so much again for any insights you can share! :)

for the most part, I have never seen any offer letter specifically mentioning about deferment, so the offer letter won't trigger anything. what I'm worried about is whether ircc or your uni try to contact each other, which I don't know much about, for some reason because withdrawal means your study permit is invalid. So, to be on a safer side I would tell you to go with study permit withdrawal if you are going to withdraw from university and use the acknowledgement email from that to immediately re-apply. I'm only telling you this because you have a year, If you're to withdraw

They cannot withdraw SP application as it's already being processed.
Best thing to do is to wait till the very last day of withdrawal for full refunds, and if no decision from IRCC by then, go ahead and withdraw so as not to lose funds.
Is it possible to apply for another program in the same DLI, one that has a January intake? I suppose even that will be late now..?

Oh yeah you are right sir! I am also wondering if my university will update IRCC once I withdraw and if it can affect my permit application. To be honest, I have never heard of any similar case like mine who is forced to withdraw from school while permit is under process..Thank you sir for sharing your insights sir! I greatly appreciate it!

Hi! Thank you for sharing your insights too about my circumstance! If I am able to wirhdraw and re-apply again in the same DLI and secure new LOA before permit outcome, I can just send new LOA via webform instead of withdrawing my student permit all together? Thanks in advance for taking time to read my post and sharing your insights too! :)

Yes, they won't be able to withdraw your file immediately but you can use the acknowledgement e-mail that you get for that and explain in your sop. One person i talked with did this. I think applying for another program is a red flag as visa is granted to you for this progra,

Yes, that's right. IRCC apparently are not concerned about changing program within the same DLI (weird loophole) so you don't have to apply for new SP if you are able to secure a new LOA at same school. Just make sure the courses are similar and same level, e.g. don't got from a Masters program to Bachelors or Diploma.

Yeah I also got curious about the same DLI scenario because in the IRCC website they only seem to mention about "changing DLI". Ironically when I inquired this in the University's immigration assistance team they told me that if I withdraw from the university I will need to withdraw my student permit application as well. Even though I intend to apply again to that same University. At the back of my mind, maybe I thought they also didn't want me to withdraw?

If you withdraw, you can wait until final SP determination . If you are approved and you withdrew from DLI, IRCC expect you to update them or they will act once they receive compliance report from DLI, then they’ll cancel your SP

Hi! Thanks so much for sharing your insight sir! What if I need to withdraw from Uni (to avoid financial penalty) WHILE my study permit is ongoing?

I have completely understood your logic of explanation. Thanks for that.

My previous studies are from mechanical engineering background. My initial course was process quality engineering, which is of core mechanical field. However, the same was not available for the next intake or was closed during the deferral process. Therefore, I had to choose a mechanical design course. This course also comes in the core mechanical fields. I donot have any evil attentions. I just want to be a the part of the course that can help me in my further career.
Hey were able to enter canada despite the change of course?

Hey, i have an offer letter of January intake and I got my visa stamped on February. However, I did not defer my intake from January to September (may intake was not available). My agent told me that he would defer after being approved from IRCC. Now I would like to move in May intake as September intake is almost 6 months late. now my question is,

1. can i change my course to similar field?
2. my initial offer letter was canceled, and can I defer now in the same subject in September intake? (First semester tuition fees paid)

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE < }
