Is it possible to amend or update documents after paper submission?

Hello to all,
I am applying for spousal sponsorship. We applied by paper, and via outland.

I am always reading the forums. I read in a recent comment that someone's package was sent back to them because their spouse's sister's address was "incomplete" - it was then I realized I only put the city and province of my husband's father. Now I am worried this will happen to me.

Is it possible to amend this somehow beforehand to avoid it being sent back?

Thank you for your help,

Thank you for your help,
Unfortunately, updating information in the application is only possible once the application has been received without being returned to sender. It sounds like your application will probably be returned to you.
However, it if it is not returned to you and you receive communication from IRCC stating that they have officially received your application (i.e., AOR1; typically about 1-3 months after you mail it in), then you can use the webform to update the information for your husband's father's address.

Thank you for your prompt response and help. I have my AOR1 already.

My father in law is not an applicant. He is just listed on the family information sheet.

My question is:
Is it enough to just web form the address update? Or must I submit a new form completely, signed and all?

There are no other corrections: I just need to amend the full address.

I had a similar situation where I noticed we forgot to fill in the email addresses of two of the PA's siblings. After receiving AOR1 we prepared an updated IMM5406 with corrected information, signed it, and sent a copy via webform. It's probably not necessary to do this after you receive AOR1 as they will simply ask you for a new copy if they think it's deficient, but we decided to send one anyway.

Ah, if you already have your AOR1 then no need to worry, they do not return applications after at that point! :)

To correct your original, even though you're only correcting one address and everything else is the same, you should still submit the correction with the entrie family information form fully completed, signed, and send it in through the webform with a message explaining the update you made to the document.

As our lawyers have told us, it is not uncommon for IRCC to miss things, so submitting a corrected form in its entirety ensures the greatest clarity and least room for mistakes on the IRCC's end.
