Hi guys,

I recently went to a lawyer and have a consultation.

This is my case,

I will take my IELTS test around April, and I think my english is pretty good I can get 6.5 or more.
However, my work experience give me an edge on this.

I worked at Chipotle for 6 months and they refused to give me a job reference.
Now, I am working as a administrative assistant for only 3 months, thankfully they are willing to give me a job reference.
It means that I have to wait for 9 months to complete my 1 year work experience which will be November 2016.

Here comes the problem. My work permit expired on April 2017.
Is it possible for me to apply for Bridging Open Work Permit?

What do you think the chance for me getting a Permanent Resident here?
I am really worried since I really want to live here in Canada.

If you can I advise you to get 7.5 or more. I did CELPIP but I'm going of what other people on this forum state about what would be a 'Good IELTS score'.

so you will complete 1 year as a admin befor your work permit expires right?


yes you have to wait to complete 1 year if you dont have letter from chipotle. you need to show all proofs pay stubs,
tax returns and job experience letter and job offer letter.


you can still request them to provide you.\


also ielts score are converted to CLB level.



you need to check your CRS score in order to see how much you need to score in IELTS to get a good CRS score.

right now good score is above 450 in order to have a chance to secure ITA.

so do a good research.

You can request a colleague of responsibility to give you reference and attach his business card, ID card and also write a letter of explanation as to why you have to obtain reference letter from your colleague, attach all your pay slips, job offer letter and work contract/appointment letter etc and that would work for you. As far as IELTS is concerned you should target LSRW--8777 which will be CLB 7 and will get you maximum points. If you get 400 plus you are good to go for Otario PT.

Ontario PT is a 'Letter of Interest' sent by the Immigration Office for the Province of Ontario inviting you to apply for an Ontario Provincial Nomination.

Generally people with a CRS score of 400+ get it, although some people on this forum did not get it despite having a CRS score of over 400. I can't comment further as I did not receive a Letter of Interest myself.

Once you submit your EE profile and pay the fees, you will get AOR within 1-2 days. Use AOR to apply for BOWP.
