Dear All
I want to know that is it necessary for a woman to get her husband's sur name written on passport after marriage. If not then can this delay the case.

Thanks

it is not necessary to change woman's surname after marriage, there are women who didn't change their surname after marriage. I personally don't think this will delay the case.

I think if you havn't change your name in your documents after marriage, then it will not cause any problem. But if the name is changes, then it should also be changes in passport.

Logically speaking it should not matter. A Passport becomes a very important documentary proof of your marriage if the spouse name is mentioned in each others passport. Regarding surname, it is not important as many women use their maiden name due to professional needs or just out of personal choice.

However it is advisable to get the spouse name added (irrespective of surname) to your Passport & vice versa. This will definitely help strengthen your case with the Visa Officer.

Agreed. This won't impact your application.

Good luck
