Can any one confirm me please that is it manditory to apply PR for spouse and kid (with me) if i am applying PR for me?

you do not need to apply for your spouse and dependent children to obtain PR visas BUT you have to include their details in the application forms and they will have to attend medicals, etc

if you don't apply for them at the same time, then they will only be able to get PR status in Canada through a separate application either under family sponsorship or FSW

If you don't add spouse in your PR application as accompanying dependent you also cannot claim points for spouse's education.

Thank you all for raising and discussing such a point. Refering to whatever you kindly have discussed before I have the following question please:

" I've applied for myself only, none of my family members "Spouse and kids" is accompanying me! The question is if the medicals will show that my spouse for example is having a health problem! Would that affect my application? Please Help

Thanking your efforts
Cheers

Yes, if she is inadmissible, even though not accompanying, all would be refused.

Even if you would apply for them say after six months?

Thank you PMM for your useful reply.

One more question to you please:
"My wife had her bitterness removed in early 1990s and she hadnt any kind of related health problems since that time. She also hasnt any other health problems at all" Would that be a problem and affect my PR application to Canada?

Thanking your efforts

I'm curious... what is this "bitterness?"

I am so sorry. That was my wife trying to ask about a surgical operation in which she had her gall-bladder was removed around 1993. She wanted to ask if that will affect my PR application!

All the best

Okay, in my opinion that will not have any adverse effect on your application. Ask her to cheer up!

To claim points, you would have to include your spouse before the IA.

I am applying for myself only (but I have a family, a wife and two children), on the application form there's the question " How many family members (including yourself) are included on this application for permanent residence in Canada?" What should I put 1 or 4?

On the instruction guide it says "Write the number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members regardless of whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not."

Again I am applying for myself only at this time, so I have to pay $550 only.
