i have got offer letter from seneca for Computer Programmer which is a 2 year program...as i m having less time i decided to start processing for this course...But i want to go for 1 year program (either HRM or IBM)....my question is ----Can i change to 1 year program after getting visa??Is it illegal if do that??Plzz help me!!!i m really tensed::

Well no its not illegal. You can change ur college and even ur course whenever u want.Though u need to notify the immigration department if there is a change in your course duration.

I think Computer Programmer is UG diploma prog and if u change from UG to PG that's 1 year graduate certificate course then definately u will have to take permission from CIC. Otherwise it will create problems in future.

It shouldn't be but keep the immi department updated just to stay on the safer side.

See, waiting for a offer letter now if you are applying for Jan 2012 intake is a total waste.The latter u apply, more are chances of negative resutls.Though keep in mind that the change of course is not in your hands only, the seats must also be vacant in whichever college and program you want to go.Else, you can study for a semester in whichever college u are applying now and shift to ur desired college in May 2012 semester.

check to answer to the 13th question under the study permit title.This is the official canadian website.If you are going to change from UG to PG then yes you have to notify them for modification of study permit though there are no chances of cancellation of study permit.So now see this and don't wrry, everything will workout just fine.Nd ur welcome

As you know you can change with certain conditions and you may need to apply at 'Case Processing Center, Vegreville, Alberta'. It's NOT clear on what basis such changes are made in your study permit. It's not illegal, but possibly you might face problem at the time of applying for PGWP.
