Hi
I am a may applicant I have been waiting for second review from two months now. is it a good Idea to go for upfront medicals because it saves some time?
What is the process and documents I need to go for upfront?

Thanks,

Well i am also in the same boat . I am Jan applicant.
I am waiting for my Second Review from 4 months, my CEC representative told me not to go for upfront medicals. I also want to do it Upfront. Hopefully someone else can give us better answer.

Hello Friends, I think it is not a good idea, Medical request will give lots of relief and a way to understand that the you indeed passed second review. Because it takes 2-3 months for PPR after medicals. So if suppose your review is happening after 2 months, then your total wait is 4 months to know if your file is progressing well.

May be some seniors will be able to comment on this.

I don't really know the details of your application, but if your application is going through a second review, that means there is chance that it might not go as smooth as expected. Your medical is valid only for 12 months, and might have to be re-done if the processing time of your application exceeds the validity of your medicals. That's assuming worse case scenario.

If you are willing to chance $300 going down the drain, for the slight possible chance of accelerating your application, that's your call. But there is also chance that your application might not be accelerated at all and will be stuck for a different reasons. Personally, I would only do upfront medicals if my application went smoothly and no concerns are found over my GCMS notes....

thanks for you suggestions.. My initial employment letter does not show roles and duties because my employer gives the letter in standard format( position, sal, and dates) so I did not provide a detailed letter with the application. after reading the note, somehow I managed to get the letter from hr with sr. managers req and sent that letter a month ago. so the second VO will have the new letter ready when he opens my file

Have you ordered a new set of GCMS? This could help you next month in understanding the current progress of your application.

If your confident your application will go through smoothly afterward, and willing to risk about $300 for a slight chance to accelerate it, then you could do upfront medicals. For some peope, that chance might worth all the pennies...

I have got my second gcms, there is no change except that they received the letters that I sent. If I do upfront Medical and upfront rprf, if everything goes well second VO can send ppr that would save a lot of time or am I wrong?

In a perfect scenario, you would get your PPR very soon. But it hasn't been always the case for some people and certainty is not our best friend here in waiting for our PPR. If you can afford the chance to lose that $300 for a slight chance to save some time, then feel free to do it...

Thanks for your thoughts retwant.. This waiting is so frustrating.. I am not able to do anything without thinking about the application for every hour :( . CIC should clear all the pending reviews soon
