Hi there,
I used IQAS recently and the processing time (on their end) was true to the ten business days estimated. I wrote a review for them here on Yelp that I can't post a link to, but I've copied and pasted the main part:
While a few degrees may mean that you need a specialised skills assessor, most can be assessed by anyone on the list. Of course I recommend reading up on the options yourself, but the main difference between the assessment companies seems to be the processing time. Some take several months! The IQAS joined the list in the last six months or so and their published processing time is 10 business days - half the time of the next company (WES).
Yes, you're still forking out $200 to get a piece of paper that confirms your degree matters in Canada. And you still need to organise for your university to send an original copy of your transcript across the world by courier or registered post. But days can count for a visa and it was actually 10 days processing time, with email updates when they start and finish processing your assessment, and a registered post tracking number when they send the report to you ($15 in Canada).
Important things to note: you must pay them and register for an assessment before sending them anything, and then you also need to fill in a form and post it to them (registered post or courier) with a copy of your Passport etc. Send this form in asap! My transcript from Australia arrived before my form sent within Alberta. The $200 fee also covers all degrees that you want assessed - so my double/dual Bachelors Degree was still $200.
