Is GIC mandatory for non SPP/SDC

I am showing sufficient funds through sponsors payslips, PF and Education loan(20 lakhs). Also paid first year university tuition fee of 10000 CAD.
Could someone please let me know if GIC mandatory as it is already late for visa. Few examples who got visa recently for September intake 2018 without GIC can boost my confidence.

R u applying under non spp?and how much total fund u show?

yes have to apply under non spp.

My FD:5 lakh
Sponsors PF:39 lakh
loan:20 lakh
Sponsors bank statement with 10 lakhs and payslips with income of 18 lpa , IT returns

So u have paid 1 year fees through bank loan?
