Hi Everyone,
I was going over the Instruction Guide on how a permanent resident may sponsor his/her parents. Under the Sponsor Eligibility section, it says one line, which is: You may NOT sponsor if you are in receipt of social assistance for a reason other than disability.
As an immigrant mother is entitled to do so, my wife receives child benefit for our daughter. Is that regarded as social assistance? Does it mean she cannot sponsor her father?
Thanks.
