Despite the fact that earth scientists understand the mechanism by which earthquakes can take place, they are losing faith in their ability to predict such disasters.

Glorious Qur'an emphasizes the fact that nothing happens in the universe without the knowledge, will and wisdom of the Creator. Earthquakes - like many other natural disasters.

the Qur'an reads:
[size=10pt]
"Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive." (Surat An-Nahl (The Bees):26)

Why the Japanese people? What was their fault? Why are they being tormented by the Creator?

why these people do not follow the Nature of the earth... why they are not stoping to cloning and making ROBOT/S machine, these is the big fault of japanese, even why these people not eating good food, they eat lots of bugs, animals uhhhhuuuaaaak... (I visited Tokyo and surrounding area like Shinjuku, Ueno etc I found lots of people eat bad food, not clean food even meat was looks worst uaakkkkk), lots of reasons are opposite the nature and nature of the earth don't like these people first by default.... thats the fault of Japanese people.... as I belive in nature to save earth.
Thanks no comments.....

Are the high rise buildings in canada earthquake proof?? any idea??

Your inquiry made me look for specific info: This what I found..

Seismic Hazard Information in the National Building Code (NBC)
http://earthquakescanada.nrcan.gc.ca/hazard-alea/zoning/haz-eng.php

Sample uniform hazard spectra for four Canadian cities.
Ground motion probability values are given in terms of probable exceedence, that is the likelihood of a given horizontal acceleration or velocity being exceeded during a particular period. The probability used in the 2005 NBC is 0.000404 per annum, equivalent to a 2-per-cent probability of exceedence over 50 years. This means that over a 50-year period there is a 2-per-cent chance of an earthquake causing ground motion greater than the given expected value.

Most buildings are well designed for withstanding vertical forces, but the horizontal component of ground motion is critical to earthquake-resistant building design. In the urban areas of coastal British Columbia, for example, 40-per-cent gravity is a typical seismic load at an appropriate probability for buildings. A building, designed to tolerate a sideward pushing force equal to 40 per cent of its own weight, should prove earthquake resistant.

Canada have lots of mountains, lakes and near to north pole, remember that its risky some provience in Canada to stay. I prefer to stay BC, Alberta or ON states only

Here we go again. Well if you're intent on preaching your religion here, then allow me to retort with mine. I believe inventing deities to find someone to blame for things like earthquakes is childish and is just a result of human insecurity. So you are saying this Allah guy of yours struck at Japan because they were all plotting something? If not then I can see no relevance to the passage you have quoted.

Don't blame "God", blame the earthquakes. Blame what we're doing to our planet. Blame our complacency and belief that "it will all be alright if we ignore it". Earth has a long long history of natural disasters and are part of the cycle of this planet. Scientists are doing a good job but some earthquakes simply cannot be predicted.

The current state of affairs in Japan is simply terrible, and what we need to do as a human race is pull together to overcome this awful disaster as best we can. If this God of yours thinks it is right and just to murder 450,000 people just because they don't read his book, then frankly it only underlines why I don't believe in him in the first place.

To quote an ancient proverb "Sh*t happens". Let's deal with it instead of trying to find deities to blame, huh?

Canada is not safe until Dr.Hasib lands there...lol
