May it's their way of limiting the number of applications being filed. But are they still accepting paper applications?

Click on the link

If you don't meet the criteria above, you can only apply on paper at this time. We’re working to make sure that more people can apply online in the future.

Check this post. I've explained it there.
Sorry but your explanation based on what ?!!
“ randomly selected “ is very clear now it’s like winning a lottery ticket …. That’s explain why no one in 2021 got AOR so probably people who got selected don’t participate in this forum ! That’s my opinion..

That doesn't stand up to logic
1. the people who applied in December 2020 online did not "receive an invitation" as far as posts on the forum suggest. They used the online link, yet some have now taken their oath of citizenship
2. people who applied in early January 2021 have received AOR
3. you're saying that Canada has taken money from people applying online and will now just, what, delete the applications? Because if you're saying 2021 applicants haven't received AOR because they weren't invited you're logically saying the applications have been received but ignored. If they haven't been formally received yet then, again logically, you don't yet know if they'll be accepted or not

Canada's citizenship application is not a lottery and you do a major disservice to the country you're hoping to become a citizenship of by even suggesting it.

The hysteria on this forum regarding online applications is getting worse and I assume is being fueled by trolls who are just fanning the flames for their own enjoyment. It's a new system, it's currently seeming to take longer except for those who applied early enough to be included in an apparent initial pilot scheme. That is all we know. Everything else is rumour and innuendo, and is detrimental to the provision of actual legit advice

1. Many have tricked the systems but sharing the link and some work arounds. I have not seen anyone in this forum may 1 or 2 people.
2. I see only a couple of them. They might have been randomly picked to proceed further.
3. No one says that Canada will steal the money. They will 100% process it but it may take many many months as the system is not ready yet and many have piled up the application system. So they will take time to go these applications which were to be selected RANDOMLY. To date IRCC is very clear that will only process applications RANDOMLY.

Everyone who qualifies may get the citizenship but will surely take a very long time.

There are few applicants that applied online and the after few months IRCC say to them that they can't find their files.

No one has tricked the system. This is the internet, if IRCC didn't want people to use that link then their developers would have made the links in such a way that the only person who is invited can use it.

It's clear that the messaging from IRCC and their twitter team is that they don't want more people to apply just yet.

Which is the exact same response anyone applying by paper will get before they receive AOR. AOR = acknowledgement of receipt i.e. no AOR = they haven't 'seen' the application and therefore can't find it. When they look for the file upon getting a webform, it seems unlikely that they go look through all the unopened applications, more likely they search your name... which is put into the system when you get AOR

I have sent them a webform asking about my online application and they were able to give me an affirmative answer:
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We have verified the information you provided and can confirm that we received your application. It will be processed according to the date it was received.

When you submit an application to IRCC, verifications are made to ensure that the online application is complete and ready for review, which means that you have:

  • Answered all of the questions on the form, and
  • Submitted all the necessary documents.

Once we have verified that the application is complete, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt. At the moment, we are unable to provide delays for how long this verification will take.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

Relaxxxxx Karen !!!
no said they steal peoples money !!
they were very clear “ randomly selected “ means not everyone , so they choose from people who already applied … that doesn’t mean they won’t process other applications but only when “ randomly selected is removed from the page
