Paper application

Late Sept/ Early Oct- mailed our application
December 10- Application filed on the tracker
Jan 19- Background verification completed
Feb 11- Citizenship test activity updated to in progress
Feb 18- Scheduled for Citizenship Test
Feb 26- Took the Citizenship Test
Mar 1- Citizenship Test updated to completed

Prohibitions, language skills and physical presence are still in progress

This what I got in reply today afternoon when I sent email to schedule me for oath ceremony .

Your file is currently in queue to be scheduled for a Virtual Canadian Citizenship Ceremony and an email invitation will be sent to you one week WITHIN the event once the date and time is secured. We are currently scheduling ceremonies for early-mid August, 2022.



Please note that it is your responsibility to keep all documents up-dated and we will not expedite applications due to soon to expire documents.

My oath date was on 27th June, still not received the certificate…

Hi guys. Quick question for the oath. Did anyone had trouble with focusing their id when asked to show? I bought several webcams and it just can't seem to focus when I put it in front of the webcam. Thanks

The test part was the same for me. But now I am schedule for oath. I don't want to get reschedule if the officer can't see clearly of the ID... been a pain waiting to be at this step

i used mac laptop everything for normal and officer was able to verify my drivers license and PR Card and told me to cut the PR infront of the web cam. everything was smooth.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see today once another webcam I ordered arrives. If it still doesn't work, I guess I'll have to borrow my friend's macbook.

Lol...I can tell you based on my own experience & some of my friends who tried it already. It will not harm at all. They will say Yes or no. Few friends got scheduled quicker due to it.

Quick question, when you emailed requesting your Oath to be scheduled, did you have DM on your ECAS?
I have everything marked as COMPLETE except Oath (Not Started). But my ECAS application status still says: In Progress.
I wonder if it is worth emailing them regardless...

I have everything marked as COMPLETE except Oath (Not Started). But my ECAS application status still says: In Progress.

Oh wait. Just to clear Decision made shows at old ECAS not at new tracker. New tracker I guess will stay at In Progress until oath ceremony then after oath it will say closed.

Paper application : July 30.
Test was completed on 26 Jan 2022.
July 06 : New tracker shows all complete except oath ceremony.

Anybody who got oath in Scarborough office on 22nd June, received citizenship certificate? I am still waiting for it, but my file was closed on 23rd.

Interesting, thanks for the clarification! I did not even know there was an "old ECAS".
Yes, I was referring the "new tracker" I guess, where they specify the status of each step (Background, Language skills, Test, Oath etc...)

I will wait for a few days and then maybe email them..
