Subject: Letter of Invitation for Parents MR. ABC & MRS. DEF

I, SWATI born on MM-DD-YYYY, Daughter of MR. ABC and MRS. DEF, currently a Permanent Resident of Canada and working as (JOB TITLE) with (EMPLOYER); And I, DHRUV SHARMA, Husband of SWATI, born on MM-DD-YYYY, son-in-law of MR. ABC and MRS. DEF, and working as (JOB TITLE) with (EMPLOYER), would both like to invite MR. ABC and MRS. DEF to visit us in Canada at our place (OUR ADDRESS).

Me and my husband got married last year and will be completing a year on 20th April 2019. I am very close to my parents and want to spend this important day of our life and celebrate our 1st Marriage Anniversary with our parents. Besides this, we can spend some quality time with parents and show them the beauty of Canada during the spring season.

We will be providing meals and lodging at our place in Brampton, Ontario at no cost to our parents. However, our parents will be paying for the rest of their trip expenses including roundtrip airfare, transportation, medicals and any other expenses during their visit and temporary stay in Canada. Also, my yearly salary is $xx,xxx, while my husband’s yearly salary is also $xx,xxx which will be sufficient to take good care of our parents.

My parents will be visiting us from 18th April 2019 to 5th May 2019. Please be assured that my parents will not overstay their visit as they have some important obligations towards Business and Family in India. The sole purpose of their visit is to meet me and my husband and be a part of our happiness for the anniversary celebration apart from some sightseeing. During their stay, we will also visit some of the well-knows tourist destinations in Canada with our parents. We want to take them to Niagara Falls, Tobermory and the CN Tower.

Please find attached all the documents for me and my husband (PR Cards, Bank Statements, Offer Letter, Passports, Pay Stubs, Relationship Proof) for your kind perusal. Also, we will make sure that our parents follow and respect Canadian Law and Order.

Kindly do let me know in case of any further questions.
I will be more than happy to help.

Sincerely Yours,
SWATI (Signature)
DHRUV SHARMA (Signature)

Hi Swati,

Anniversaries as such as not considered as compelling reasons to visit. That said, you wouldn't want to focus on your anniversary as the reason to visit.... but rather, as one of the reasons to visit. Do reference evidence and explanations.

If you have made any bookings for your wedding anniversary celebrations then do include the evidence.

Also, do keep in mind that an Invitation letter is one component of the application. The focus is on your parents to prove they have a good financial situation + strong reasons to return to India.

You may want to consider including cover letters for each application.... which would give a summary of their personal, professional, financial, etc situation in point-format

Change 'Citizenship status' to India .... and include 'Canada immigration status': 'Permanent Resident'

Cheers

I think based on personal experience, remove that your parents will pay for medical/ health care and other expenses. Of course you will pay for meals, it looks not professional when you say only that.
Even though they might have strong financial funds, still you need to take care your parents and if something happened it looks like if they are not able to pay, you are not also ?
Not good. Review that again. I'm saying for your own good.

They should NOT remove the part about the parents paying their own expenses. It is far more important that the parents show that their own finances are sufficient for the trip. IRCC relies far more on that than on the host's financials.

I thought the same and hence, came up with the idea of splitting the expenses b/w me and my parents.
I bear costs of lodging, food and transport while parents pay for medical insurance, airfare and any shopping.
Thought this way it reflects parents are financially stable enough to support themselves.

@Bryanna Any thoughts ?
Thanks in Advance.

@canuck_in_uk is right. I would follow through with her advice. In fact, it would be best if your parents can prove that they have the financial resources to pay for even the airfare, overseas travel medical insurance + surplus (the last point shows the financial incentive to return to India).... instead of depending on you for any component of their visit.

Your support would be for providing accommodation and their local travel/living expenses. Hope they have prepared a detailed day-by-day itinerary for their visit along with expense estimates.

Of course, their financial resources (liquid/can be liquidated) should have been earned by them.... not borrowed for the visa application.... and should match their declared sources of income in their tax assessments

Hello Swati, did your parents get visa? If so, would you be able to share the final draft you've submitted to IRCC?

Thanks!

Hi @PeXXeR and @Bryanna
I am also applying for my parents visitor visa. Wanted to check is it necessary to get the letter notarized here in Canada? and secondly, do I need to send the hard copy of letter to india as the application can be made online only.

Hello guys, sorry didn't know that there are questions on my message earlier.

Posting answer just for the sake of reference for people in the future.

I was able to get the TRV approved for my parents using above format. Just amended based on the comments from Bryanna.
Please feel free to use the above format.
