Dear Danish,
I think there is no problem at all. I second Ms saeed suggestion. First, your qualifications itself proves that you belongs to the same NOC, as per your comments, your replies were not taken with care. If you feel it than the judicial review is the next step.

Take opinion here from experts and seniors, whether you go for it now or after the decision.
Best of luck.

you are all very kind. here is a bit of history

I work in ADNOC (the national oil company of UAE) in corporate planning and budget section. our daily activity is nothing crunching numbers and developing forecasts.

the VO was somewhat pre determined not to get me through, he did not ask for any documentation and when I highlighted he unwillingly took in my JD. the questioning started with bit of my history, I am a qualified CPA, ACMA, LFA and a masters in strategic management.

he asked me what I do, I explained a bit of my current role. my information was bit technical as well because it relates to oil and my previous role for automotive sector.

anyways at near end of the interview he said "we had a concern about your application as not in line with NOC 1112 and I am not satisfied with your responses" I responded in asking which area can I explain further, he said " your answers are broad" I replied I am only answering your broad level question do you have any specific questions to ask for example you asked about capital management, do you want me to explain about individual perspective a corporate perspective or any product portfolio do you have in mind where I can be more specific....he had nothing to say......

he was typing everything I was saying, I asked him if you can read through what you have written !!! he had a good typing speed but when he started reading I felt the writing was very fragmented and not making any sense......I did make sense!!!!

well our interview last for more than one hour and 10 minutes!! I kept explaining and he kept writing...at the very end may be because he did not want to give a bad feeling he said we will review and get back to you. at that moment he threw away my paper under his desk like rubbish. I said these are originals if he be kind enough to return and take photocopies instead...which he agreed !!!

so this is the unbiased version of the story. what I feel strongly is that we were not able to connect or may be I was too focused on explaining what I knew rather than what he wanted to listen....!!

I think the decision is final at his end, it was more or less the same case at the start of the interview ............. but this is all very confusing why did CIC accepted my application and why I was sent a confirmation letter. then all of a sudden an interview which was of the generic requirement as was sent o you all.....

I will request for a judicial review of the application and the scenario !!

let me know your thoughts !!

I have read on forum one NDVO case which I told you even he was refused straight away by VO.
Working in UAE will not put any plus point as they had concern related to his job duties not the existence of the company. Where he works its big company but they have concern related to his JD not company.
But in Fareed's case I think it will be too early to say anything they have not sent him any thing. I guess he will get MR soon.

Recently i also listen that a girl from India is refused at Abu Dhabi office straight away .......visa officer said at the end im sorry you could not get through ........before this,,,, a man from Pakistan has been denied at spot ............so pending cases should wait for the best as danish said think for the best and best happened so finger crossed.........

Some tips for the interview:

a) First of all just relax and delete any negative thoughts in your mind....This is probably the most important interview of your life but try to relax and don't think about it tonight...If anyone whose interview is tomorrow still surfing this forum...go to sleep (after reading my tips of course!)

b) try to be there at least 45 mins before your interview time...this helps you in absorbing pressure and adjust to the environment..take a walk read their maps..notice board etc...

c) Please DO NOT open any of your file, form or page out of your pocket and start reading it while sitting there as if this is your final semester exam....you never know that they might be observing you...a genuine person with good job experience does not need to read his JD before the interview...

d) Knock the door before entering and try to be first in saying Good Morning...

e) Organize quickly and sit upright...keep watching his face as he reads your passport instead of looking at your files and other stuff...trust me when he raise his head and finds you sitting ready for the task makes a good impression...

f) Try to use key words provided on CIC website related to your NOC while explaining your work...for instance NOC 2174: write software code, computer programs, technical problems, maintenance of software, collecting user requirements, etc...

e) Think about a good answer for why you choose this profession...

d) Think about two problems that you usually face while performing your duties...

Gud luck and may the Force be with you...

hi i was interviewed on 23 Feb 2014, and just like danish i am also a silent observer of this forum , and my case is just like daish, i was refused straight away by the vo, stating that my NOC 0112 does not match with ur job description, my question is that when cic has approved my case by giving positive eligibility review how come visa officer straight away refused my case, really worried and shocked to see this attitude from VO

Another mishap by LVO i guess. 3 cases has now been reported by Negative Eligibility. others are fine. I guess something is going on beyond my scope i guess..
Just wait and see what happens and then proceed accordingly.
Sorry for this.

This is strange and it is clearly showing that interviews are not just the random picks ... they have some concern regarding job duties and they have already decided to reject the applicant ...... calling an interview is just for the safe side to show that they have given enough chance to the applicant to satisfy the VO ......

Hummmm....... AK2147, it seems that you are correct, that is why they are saying candidates twice that it is a random pickup but infact they have shortlisted few on the basis of doubt and will see in the interview, if they can prove themselves. Well, it may be true or not ...as these are all our assumption.....but one thing is clear that interview is not a Formality and you have to prove yourself in the interview that you are the one who is fully performing the duties as mentioned in the NOC.

Guys describe you JD according to NOC description and back it up with documents......best of luck, may God be with you.

What I have observed from the statement of danish and shanutiger that even if they were trying to prove themselves but VO was not in a mood to listen them like he/she has already decided to reject them. I wish all my thinking get wrong and they get through the interview but please be remember that Canada is not the end of life.... be brave and be positive !!!!

AK 2147 YOU SAID THE RIGHT WORDS, I HAD OBSERVED THAT CLEARLY VO FROM THE STARTING HAD MADE UP HIS MIND TO REJECT MY APPLICATION , HE WAS IN NO MOOD TO LISTEN TO MY OBSERVATIONS AND CONTINUOUSLY SAID ONE THING THAT I A NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR JD , AND IT DOES NOT MATCH WITH UR NOC, BUT MY POINT IS THAT IF IT DOES OT MATCH THEN WHY THE HELL CIC APPROVED MY APPLICATION THE FIRST TIME, AS ALL THE DOCUMENTS WERE THE SAME, THIS IS VERY STRANGE AND BIAS ATTITUDE FROM THE VO , AND I HAVE ALREADY EMAILED TO LONDON VO , IN WHICH I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS UNJUSTLY REFUSED BY THE VISA OFFICER

If you are talking about myself. I successfully clear my interview (Alhamdulilah).
At the end of the interview VO told me they will issue me medical very soon.

If you don't mind could you please tell me, how you know the girl get refused?

By the way i am from Lahore Pakistan.

Thanks, Iqbal

Shanutiger,

I really feel sorry for you. With the best of my knowledge CIO Sydney will not check your JD and check reference letter's thoroughly. what they are checking this time is IELTS, EDU degree evaluation, rest just from the top not thoroughly.
And when they do file transfer to your local VO they write this in your GCMS "JD's needs to be verified" it is local VO's duty to tailor the JD's and match with your noc and get it verified.
