Hi All,

I am going to land in Canada on 24th January 2016 for a short duration to activate my PR card. Within a week I will come back to my home country and later in 2 months I will move permanently to Canada. Here, I would like to Know during my one week stay in Canada, do I need to take any Health Insurance? If yes, please advice which one is the best one.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Chandu

It is not mandatory but it is safe to get insurance. You can google for insurance providers in your home country. Good luck.

This depends. In some provinces like Alberta, you get immediate medical coverage once you land so you won't need foreign medical insurance. In some other provices like Ontario, you have to wait exactly 3 months before you enjoy public medical coverage. So I advise you research your province before paying for insurance, cheers.
