hi, i am visiting canada again this christmas and for just a month i guess. but my visa and passport expires on april 2016. is that ok thanks

no, has to be valid for 6 months + after your stay so you could go with that passport if it was valid til june, so go get a new one

To the OP:
Canada does NOT have a 6 months passport validity rule. You can travel/enter Canada on your existing passport. The period of authorized stay may be limited to the validity of the passport (and not the general 6 months stay on a TRV) by the immigration officer.

You must check with the airlines if they will allow you to board the flights + have confirmed return tickets to show at the POE (if required)
