I know no one can give me a black and white answer on this, but I'm really torn and would love to know what you would do....
I hold a diplomatic passport, but am not a diplomat myself. I recently changed to ordinary passport but at the time of application, I applied for my PR with my diplomatic passport.
Recently came across this:
"All prospective immigrants must hold a valid regular or private passport at the time of landing. Diplomatic, official, service or public affairs passports are not valid for immigration to Canada."
................how I missed this crucial part before applying? I have no clue. I even went to see a lawyer before submitting, and he didn't say anything about it.
I'm a January 2014 applicant which means I can hear back from them any day now. Should I just bring in my ordinary passport at the time of landing (if I even get a positive DM) and hope that they don't reject me on the spot based on my passport? This is what my MP told me to do but what if they reject me first...?
Interestingly I did get an OWP even with my diplomatic passport.....
I look forward to your thoughts!
