Black-Berry: That is okay no need to apologize. I already had a client id before this because of previous visitor record and extensions. And I am trying to sign onto ECAS on the CIC site but it still isn't working.

mint: Thank you for reassuring me that I am doing it the way I should be and for sharing how long it took you to sign in the first time. I too already had my client id from previous extensions. I will definitely try to be more patient. :)

MexicaTica: Thank you for suggesting that but I already signed up for that a few months ago. I still have not received an email so I figured I would check. I haven't been obsessively checking. I have only tried to sign in about 6 times now during the whole 3 months so I don't think that is bad. Lol. Hopefully I do receive an email and I hope I didn't mistype anything when signing up for it.

Haha why thank you. I wouldn't say I rock quite yet though.
That number of times checking may be going up a lot more in this month alone. Lol.
I know that ecas doesn't really show anything but I just don't want to be one of those unable to sign in.

WAHOO!!!

Just called CIC this morning and actually got a nice agent (lol shocker there sometimes).
Anyway, she informed me that they started processing our application on SEPTEMBER 22, 2010.
Seems like they are taking less and less time to start processing from the time it is received now which is good news for new inland applicants. Now if we could just get the main processing times to go down. Well one hurdle at a time right.

So I just thought everyone that is wanting to hear when theirs start processing, our app started processing 2 months and 6 days after being received. I know this is a small update but I am on top of the world right now. :p
i wonder why she told me that it takes 9 months to open ones file now  i sent mine on June 22 received on June 26th

Well it takes you 9 months to get AIP and OWP but they obviously open it up before then. They have to check that everything was included and completed right. I would guess that yours started processing at the beginning of September.

ok this is what am also confused about. i know they open your application, check it but what are they checking for??just completeness?. At what point do they deny you if there is a problem with your application??.
Say for example you are being suspected of fraud. is it at this stage when they open your application?. or is it just the basic info ie signatures, completeness. lacking information.. etc...

i think they reject u at once if u had crimes, or ur family had (maybe). they probably check if application sent complete if not they send it back. and they proly put the main data of urs into their computer and put ur application in a big pile that is waiting for AIP.

The agent told me it was the same as my client id#. She said that only applications being processed outside of Canada receive a file number. I verified it with RobsLuv and the agent seems to be correct.

I have been selecting client id as my identification type when it asks. Should I be selecting file number?
Love_Young, i thought u dont have client ID and thats why u cant log in to ur ecas. thats why i wonder how u know ur app been started :)

Thank you Black_berry. You are so thoughtful as always. :) I have been doing some extra prayers myself. For you and the others we have made this journey with.

It is very exciting and nerv racking this week. I find myself waking up to check e-case..then CIC website..then check the forum to see how my friends are doing. I giggle to myself how excited I get when I see one of the January applicants have posted something..I nearly have heart failure during the 2 seconds it takes to open the page and see what you wrote, I know any time now you will have that good news to share, wont be much longer now ;D ...

Last week when the date changed and we saw ppl getting their AIP , My husband & I burst into excited chatter. Bubbling with excitment and talking about it and how we hope and pray the suspense will be over soon. I think we have almost tallked it to death. lol

I think now I plan is to just say my prayers, I will hold on tight to my husband each day. I will tell him how special and irreplacable he is to us...I will hope that the person who has my family's life in their hands this week, will give us a favourable response.

Over the weekend we had a immigration free weekend. We went to a pumpkin festival in the countryside Sat. It was soo nice! We watched a parade and my husband won me a stuffed annimal at the carnival. It was a beautiful day.

I loved it so much we went back with my son on Sunday! We enjoyed the 40 min country drive... had brunch and attended a big car show with a carnival and crafts and activities. (Yes we took lots of pictures) It was a lot of fun..it was a bit like playing "Wheres Waldo" because I kept loosing my husband in the crowd..he was there 1min..then we would find him 6 cars down with his head in a engine or off talking to other "car guys" the next :p

I appreciate all the support you guys show us and others around you and assure you we are right here rooting for you all as well. I promis I will be on here with bells on the day we get a answer from CIC. (Hopefully a great one!)

Good luck! and a special thx Black_berry for your well wishes.

My update of the day is I went this morning to get my SIN card. I was in and out of the office in about 10 minutes. Now if only every process was quick like that. ;)

Donde estas MexicaTica, en Edmonton me decias?...
It took me much more than 10 minutes at the SIN office here in Toronto.. more like an hour and a half.... Have you gone to go get your health card?.. That one took me 2 attempts and about an hour to finally get it done....
You are now ready to go get a job somewhere...
Good luck on that!.

By the way, since my application was submitted in September, last year and received in October, last year; I'm moving to this thread... The other one (Inland applications 2010) is better suited for all you guys and gals from applications submitted this year...
I think I'm one of the last of the mohicans from Inland 2009...

Hola robrod; si estoy en Edmonton. One of my friends who landed earlier this year told me to go as soon as they opened. I was the third person there so it went really quick. The health card also took me two attempts because I had to go pick up the forms, bring them back for my husband to sign and take them back. Amazingly though, the health care card arrived in the mail two days later!

I started job hunting but I have a feeling it is going to take sometime. I don't know why I thought I would get the work permit and soon after get a job. Like my husband told me yesterday, "the work permit doesn't come with a job, you are going to have to be patient." Jajajajaja. ;D
