Thanks for the welcomes!
- Jean26 I applied April 15th and they started processing June 25th. They haven't asked for any more information - so we hope we will get AIP soon!

The process has been a really hard on us:( I lived in my husband's country (S.Korea) for 3 yrs and I got a permanent residence visa within a week!

Robrod - I am a canadian permanent resident (originally from England) & I thought the same - I did not get citizenship because I didn't think I needed it - for me this was a mistake.

I should have applied when I had the chance because now I want a government job (every government job prefers citizenship to pr - even those call centre nitwits!)

Also if we are out of Canada for more than 2 yrs within 5 yrs we'll lose pr status. This isn't good if we decide to live in my husband's country for a while or retire early in a nice hot country! Now I have to wait another 2 yrs (because I have been out of the country for too long)

Thank you, Deer... I guess I was forgetting about the residency requirement for PRs... Since my father-in-law only went to Germany a couple of times and only for short visits, he never had to worry about meeting the residency requirement...

Hi, i created inlanders group on Facebook, if u want u can join freely there: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_150113778370932

Glad it is over for you and hope one day we can all say the same. May you enjoy your life of happiness in Canada.

Deer30 We are so close, your husband applied on the 15th and I on the 16th!! We're just one month away! Keep me posted if you get any mail in the upcoming weeks! Good luck!

Time for a belated update for the day. I apologize.

QUOTE OF THE DAY (Sun. Dec 19, 10)
"The only real failure in life is the failure to try."

INLAND WAITING ACTIVITY OF THE DAY
If you like instruments but never had the chance to learn before you could by a book or watch videos online to teach yourself to play an instrument you didn't have time to learn before. Also, maybe you already know how to play an instrument then you could learn songs you didn't know before and surprise your sweetheart with a new song. Music is a good way of relieving stress and why not use it to learn a new hobby, pass the time, and relieve your worries.

I am so glad to hear that the two are staying strong and hanging in there. Don't give up dear. Love conquers all and I truly believe that. Holidays will definitely keep you busy. My legs are so sore today it almost took me 5 minutes to walk up the stairs if it wasn't for hubby helping me up them. Lol. Shopping and decorating does a toll on the body. It may be hard to enjoy the holidays but I hope you take this time to relax and love each other that much more. I hope we can hear more from you. I miss hearing from you here. Merry Christmas to you and your family too. May this New Year be filled with lots of happiness and peace for you.

Hello, everybody!...

I hope everyone continues to get those nice envelopes with the right decisions from CIC...
I just got my last envelope from them, a normal letter size one, white in color from Sidney, Nova Scotia (just like someone said it would be) with my PR card in it.
Thank you Canada and especially to CIC for allowing me to be one more of your Permanent Residents!!!.

Merry Xmas to everyone in this thread and the forum, thanx for all your help and messages; and see you again in 3 years in the Citizenship thread!!!.
Rob.

Aww congrats Rob so glad to hear that you got your card. That is wonderful.
I would like to say I will see you over there but I don't know. I certainly hope I am approved so I can say that to you.
Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.
