I have a question regarding my immigration status. If I have an outstanding immigration arrest warrant due to my failure to voluntarily leave the country as instructed, and I have received Approval-In-Principle for my application from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, will the Canada Border Services Agency still detain and deport me despite the Approval-In-Principle?
Earlier this week, I received a phone call from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada informing me that my application has been approved in principle, but I was advised that I need to present myself to the Canada Border Services Agency to execute the warrant. The representative suggested that the Canada Border Services Agency would contact me to schedule an appointment, and when I jokingly asked if I would be detained, she replied that it was unlikely and that I would likely be required to report regularly until I obtain permanent residency. I have attached a copy of the email sent to me by the Canada Border Services Agency below. Although the instructions are clear, I would appreciate any feedback from individuals who have experienced similar circumstances.

An Inland applicant usually benefits from the Administrative Deferral (AKA, the Public Policy), but only if a person is not already removal ready.
If your warrant was issued anytime before you reached the AIP stage...you may not have benefited from the policy.

Good luck!
