I am a Canadian citizen who has returned from living and working in the US. While there, I built a relationship and eventually married my American wife. Because of the timing constraints on my return, we had not been able to apply outland before my return. After my return, my wife came to visit me, and during her visit, we talked about it and decided that we should try to apply inland.
The difficulty we're facing at the moment is providing proof of her status in Canada. As an American citizen, she should have visitor status for 6 months from the date of entry, however there is no stamp in her passport... Is there any type of document we could provide when it comes to proving her legal status? Would plane tickets along with an explanation work? Would she need to re-cross the border in order to get a stamp?
Please help, we are really trying to do everything right and avoid any problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
AutumnLeaf
