Hello there! We sent in my application for PR today by mail. My husband is sponsoring me.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of each other over the next 1-2 years

Let the waiting games begin!

I'm so glad to have someone in the same boat with me. So far the voices demanding for prioritization of family reunification is getting louder, I hope it will be heard. In the meantime, lets enjoy the ride and remain optimistic. Take care and keep in touch buddy!

Package delivered August 31.

Even though I reviewed the application over 20 times, I am still paranoid about making a mistake and having it sent back. This will be a long stressful wait.

Just click the link on the documents checklist, that will be the right form to use, that's what I did.

I feel you. I was suppose to send it last July however, my wife and I made sure that everything was ok, it was borderline obsessive compulsive. I just hope that due to covid, evaluators would be lenient, instead of returning the application, they would just notify you through email to address any issues with your application.

Processing is still going on but there have been delays. The petitions are about allowing spouses to enter Canada during the wait period. Given that AOR is taking around double the time delays are inevitable. Highly unlikely that Canada is going to hire more immigration officers. If anything the Canadian government is going to need to go on a major spending diet at a certain point.

Absolutely, i can never see them hiring more workers to address the issue. The only factor that can change the game is the "humanitarian factor". If family reunification is sincerely one of their priorities. They have shown this before during the Syrian civil war, they expedited process due to that humanitarian factor, I'm sure they can explore this possibility again, after all, it's for the good of their own people, PR's and Canadian Citizens.

Hi there,
We have sent the application on Aug 22 and tracked as delivered and signed on Aug 25. Hoping we have filled everything accurately.

Sponsor (me) initially landed as PR in Nov 2018 but only moved permanently in Feb 2020. PA (wife no other dependents) is on a tourist visa arrived Mar 2020 just before the borders shut down, we have applied for her visa extension but application is till in-progress.
Since, I have not filed any taxes yet, all my financials were from USA and I included a cover letter explaining this.
