No worries. My husband was never a refugee just overstayed his visitor visa by 2 years. The reason as to why PRRA was filled out was because of the departure order that was placed and CBSA said that they cannot just wait for a spousal application to go through while a removal order is active. Submitting a PRRA will suspend the removal order in which they will not bother my husband to leave or be deported to go. We knew he will not get approved through PRRA but we just submitted it as it was an option that was "told" to us by CBSA as we would have complied, leave the country and submit an outland application. The success rate of PRRA is not favorable to any failed refugee as the approval rate I was told is between 1-3%.

But what I heard was if spousal application is already in process, CBSA wait till the final decision comes. Also, I am sorry for your PRRA rejection and really wish your husband will receive his PR soon.
Same situation. Hubby out of status almost 2 years. We got married July 2017. Put together application and was ready to be sent off except for
Police certificate from his country which was to arrive via courier in 2 days.
Because of the app process, CBSA was alerted and they showed up at my door. Hubby wasn’t here. He was told to turn himself in the next morning. Hubby went and was put under administrative arrest, given an exclusion order and let go with the condition to sign in once a month. At that time the officer said techically he was to start the removal order process that day but would stall for a month to give us a chance to get our sponsorship app sent off. He also stated if toronto office calls us in 1st, then it would be out of his hands. He said he would give him prra package at 1st sign in appointment. 10 months have gone by and that still hasn’t happened. About a week ago we finally got an interview letter and are to travel to Mississauga office tomorrow for it. I have read ur only slightly protected ( Not a definitely but have a chance) once u reach AIP. We are very very close to that but def not by tomorrow. But when hubby told the cbsa officer at his last sign in what’s happening , he said not to worry. He still thinks we will be ok. He said because the app is in period they may just agree to wait for a decision ( he knows we haven’t reached aip yet and knows we did not even have app in when issued the exclusion order) He said ask for deferral if not ( which I thought was only for people who had app IN BEFORE exclusion order. He doesn’t think it will go this far, but also suggested applying for prra to buy time as a last resort. So worried about tomorrow. Everything our local officer has told us really goes against everything everyone in the forums has told me. Praying he’s being honest with us or isn’t giving us bad Info by maybe not remembering our situation clearly. Good luck

Thank you. I hope so but unfortunately when we went to the interview on Saturday the officer informed us that AIP does not help. She said they do not wait on sponsorship app decisions when enforcing removal orders. I told her that i heard of the public policy that protects inland applicants out of status and what the 1st officer told us and she said no. Its not done at all. I dont understand. Our only hope now is to apply for PRRA amd hope we get DM on sponsorship app before a decision comes back on PRRA. Called IRRC this morning and was informed our eligibility has not started yet. Our file was transfered to BC but there's no notes stating that it was for any reason other than work share. This worries me when it comes to processing time now. Even tho the agent said they've only just began processing Jan applicants, ive seen many April applicants getting AIP. Some even DM. But yet they havent even started our eligibility check

Yes ,apparently its at the digression of the officer. Your officer is probably not nice . Even though it may cost you, you may also defer removal in federal court and this will force cbsa to WAIT for your app.
This happened to my friend .
Also you can use prra to buy yu some time.
Yes that is what we are planning next.

Please explain me more. As i got exclusion order in oct 2018. I am out of canada right now. My inland sponsorship is in process since june 2018. Should i wait for the inland pr to be approved or should i take my application back?? Please help
Your inland application will be refused so you should withdraw it. Guess you can sit until it is refused if you want.
