As some of you may have noticed, from observation or personal experience, another common thread and challenge for us CEC-inclanders is the fact that a lot of us became qualified for PR close to the expiry date of or PGWP. Or some may have had a previous PR application rejected after being in process for months. Now you’re trying to reapply – but your work permit is a few months away from being expired.

Consequently a lot of us are concerned about the timing of a decision being made on our PR application and our PGWP expiring.

If you are anyone is experience this challenge please share your comments, suggestions and thoughts.

We don’t have as much flexibility in terms of renewal or bridging work permits. These options are limited from my understanding so I would be really helpful if you could share your personal experience to assist those experiencing any problems.

Thanks for your help

My husband renewed his work permit last year for a fifth year - which I believe is not very common. However, his work were able to prove that his skills were 'in demand' and that they were not able to employ anyone else with his skills set to complete their projects. Not sure if we would be able to that again though since we have a PR application submitted.

Nice high score my friend! Looks like your timeline is about a week or two ahead of mine so as soon as you get any updates keep us informed. You may be the one to break the pack with the good news of PR from this group. 8)

Thanks Ontariolove,

But I believe high score doesn't matter much as once you are in the game of getting AOR, it's all same
Submission of all detailed documents and how simple your application is moves things quickly

I hope all of us hear good news quickly.

In my case, I haven't heard from CIC about any additional document so not sure what's happening till now :D
May be I will hear the final news (thumbs up/ down) :D

Same here - they haven't requested any additional doc's from me either. Not sure what to make of that but I am hopeful its a good sign.

Wow - thanks Scottygirl. That is very insightful! I am sure that will help someone - I honestly never knew you could renew the permit so many times. Though you did mentioned this may be rare and under special circumstances.

Thanks for your feedback.

Do you know if they contacted your HR/ manager to verify your work experience in Canada and other countries (if you showed foreign exp)?

In my case, I just asked my HR on Friday and she told me she hasn't received anything yet

In some cases they do - I have seen a case where a application was rejected on this basis. They don't always call but something in the application may raise a flag and prompt them to call.

In the case I saw - the gentleman lied about experience gained in a foreign country and the reference letter didn't look genuine so the officer called the business and was told the applicant never worked there. :-[

Oh makes sense!
That can obviously reject your application

Never a good thing to lie - especially on an immigration application form!

You're timeline is almost identical to mine! :D Here's hoping we're not waiting too much longer for that longed for PPR. Oh, and you probably won't get ECAS access, think it's been taken away for EE applicants as we can track our progress using MyCIC. Good luck!!

Yeah we r having almost same timeline. Have applied through lawyer so no MyCIC account available. Basically m worried because its second time we have applied as my husband is primary applicant. Last time applied in Aug but was rejected. Reason was due to system glitch cic havnt got our english results. Raised CSE that time for which got reply in Oct that they will reinstate. But after that nothing and RPRF refunded. So bit worried and nervous but hoping for the best.
Fingers crossed!!
All the best to all of us!!!

Got everything crossed for you!! We've been here almost 4 years and started this whole process a year ago. It took 5 months to get the LMIA then we got an ITA in July but didn't realize we needed upfront medicals done - totally our fault. First medical appt we could get was October so had to let our ITA expire and wait for the next one. We're the same, husband is the primary applicant too - although I appear to have done all the work ???

CEC Inland - LMIA supported
Timeline in my signature
Got request to pay RPRF on January 29, which I did right away.
Nothing since =( so frustrating
