We live in Toronto but were on vacation in the UK when we got the ITA and didn't get back until August so couldn't phone for an appt til then. Tried to get an earlier appt but the beginning of October was the first we could get.johnny123 said:Everything was booked 3 months ahead?Which province/city? Did you try to contact all reps in the city from CIC web page?

Good to know, Thanks for the info by the way.Prasannaa said:FWIW - I just called this number - 613-944-4000 and once you navigate your way to the agent after selecting the IVR options for PR application - I was able to talk to an agent and ask why the Background Check status changed from InProgress to Not Needed At this time..and whether it has any implication on the processing.
He verified that the application was "Still being processed" and that there was nothing wrong with the application or nothing that I have to do. That was reassuring to begin with. The agent also advised that the current delay/processing timeline is still about 6 months. This he said was true for the CEC category of application.
I guess we just have to wait.
- As far as any bridging permit needs, he was not in a position to advise but said that for those whose status is expiring, they would need to apply for extension or bridging permit a month prior to expiry. He seemed not so knowledgeable of that process but advised I check on the website for details and what I should choose to do.
Well - hoping to see some progress in the next few weeks as the refugee work slows down and the Oct AOR moves up to the Nov & Dec AOR processing.
I think you will have 30 days to submit your passport - from what I've read on the forum.Ontariolove said:Its been two months since AOR...one month since last update has been made to my file.
I'm going away on vacation the last week of March...you know what I believe is going to happen? I believe my passport will be requested either just before I go away on vacation or in the middle of my vacation and CIC will say you have 7 days to send your passport.
Thanks - that sounds more reasonable and practical.Scottygirl said:I think you will have 30 days to submit your passport - from what I've read on the forum.
