Hi everyone!
Just got a request for medical and I am concerned about the x-ray requirement because I am pregnant. Will CIC continue processing with partial results (i.e. without the x-ray), or will it be on hold until I am comfortable doing the x-ray? Is there a link to a previous discussion on this matter? Will I get AIP regardless of the medical test requirement?

July 2015 applicant.

Thanks for any insight you can offer!

B.

You are obligated to tell the physician that you are pregnant. They will not do the x-ray, and CIC will have to wait until your child is born for medical.

EDIT: Here is a CIC link explaining: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=987&top=4 .

Thank you profiler for your help and quick reply!
What about AIP, am I going to get it with partial medical exam? Or before that? Is AIP conditional upon medical?

I don't know on this one. If you didn't have an AIP you were probably in SIR, So they would have bypassed AIP. My guess is you will get AIP once you complete the medical (as they will switch your case back to normal processing from SIR to give you time to have your baby and finish the x-ray).

If you send your OWP extension before your OWP expires, you can continue to work under implied status. No idea if the second one takes 4 months to receive.

It might be a waste of money, if you get your DM notice, but at least you won't have to stop working.
Thanks for the reply! Im hoping to get my DM before my OWP expires. Is it safe to do it a month before?

CIC recommends at least 30 days, but you can even apply to extend (online) one day before it expires. ;)

dumb question, sorry, but is there a faq that explains the abbreviations you are all using? ie. AOR, AIP, etc...? or can someone quickly share a quick list?

thanks

thanks... big thread.... I found this inside it too: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qp2u3X_F10-peLhSZnPwBNAZivuICTZIA2eyB-tOerE/edit#gid=0

so what is the next step after AOR ? I see this message on my CIC status: We started processing your application on May 12, 2016. does this have an acronym? what comes next after that?

You mentioned your timeline in the 2016 thread. I did answer you there. You're likely in SIR. Meaning your case may bypass all the usual steps and you may end up with a PPR (your partner is Russian if I remember) or a landing invitation right from AOR.

I pasted links to Spousal Inventory Reduction in the 2016 thread. We are Canadian/Russian and from the same basic timeline and also in SIR.

thanks, we are inland so "landing invitation" doesn't apply right? (unless I'm confused by terminology again)

Visa-requiring get's a PPR (from what I have read -- haven't experienced yet),
Visa-exempted gets a landing invitation (which is where they send off for the PR Card).

just received SA-- June 2015 applicant.. when do you guys think my husband will get AIP? I am the sponsor. Medical was sent Oct 17 2016 through e-medical.

Hey guys

Update for me. July 2015 applicant and got a Medical request in the CIC online account. Any wisdom around how much time it will take to get a landing interview once we send back the medicals?

I have not received any AIP for sponsor application does that mean this is part of SIR now? (I read in a few comments)

Is landing interview a necessity? Anyone's experience around rescheduling a landing interview?

Thanks in advance for your help!
