I have been requested for a police clearance from RCMP. Not sure why but gonna do it. So I guess it might be new practices?

Application submission: June 2015
Acknowledge by CIC: August 2015
Start the processing application from Sponsor by 2nd August 2015
I received 2nd AOR on Feb 2015
and just receive this request yesterday on Oct 2015

My partner's status still under processing. I read countless time there is no need for RCMP clearance as long as you are inside Canada. I'm in Canada since 2014 and I don't understand why

Don't know how to answer your question because I was asked to submit police certificate from birth country, I think you need to call CIC and ask them to clarify.

If I was to guess, it's because you spent more than 6 months in Canada before your application was filed.

It will be soon don't worry! I think they are processing each application quite fast, like the time from when we got sponsorship approval to the landing interview letter was 5 days! Didn't even get AIP or DM letter. Did you submit medicals and police checks upfront and paid the fees already? It helps everything go a lot faster if you sent in a full application :)

hi can anyone tell me how to submit medical and police check without requesting from cic? I would like to send it out to see if my progress would be faster.

Medical you just go to a panel physician: http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx

PCC: I would be surprised if they didn't ask for this already. Any country you spent more than 6 months in, you need to visit their embassy/consulate website and request the Police Clearance Certificate.

I think you can just submit it?? I'm not sure. We just submitted them with our application upfront so there wouldn't be any delays

once cic receives my husband's medical result, it will still probably be a few more months for any progress eh?june 2015 applicant.

CIC said they do the background check themselves, which is why you do not need to obtain it. did your request specifically say Canada RCMP police check was missing? You may want to call them

No they won't update you about medicals. If you log onto ecas it might say 'medical received.' Have you ordered your gcms notes? You'll get more info from those.

when i log into ecas it just says application received nothing else.... what do you mean by gcmc notes? how can i get that?

GCMS Notes are the case notes attached to your file. These are the notes that the officers make as they work on your case. You can order those by submitting an ATIP request: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp . If the sponsor requests the notes, and the PA is in Canada, you can save the $5 and make a request under the privacy act: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp .

You can also request Medical notes as well. When we did our first request, we requested the medical notes, and the GCMS notes for both the sponsorship application and the permanent residency application.

The sponsor should submit the consent form. The PA fills out and signs section a, the sponsor fills out and signs section c.

They will take about 30 days to get.

in ECAS you can check the notes on the PR application by clicking on the link under the "Permanent Residence Application Status". You may see something like:
We received John Doe's application for permanent residence on October 5, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

You can also log into myCIC. In there you will see more detail than ECAS, but less detail than the GCMS Notes. For myCIC you will need to create an account if you don't have one, then link your application to the account. myCIC is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp .

HTH!
