I also got a landing interview in August 2016 after submitting my application in March 2015. Nobody ever requested an additional medical exam, and in my eyes, its only expired when someone says it is and asks for another. At some point they must have looked at all your documentation with your application and perceived it as being all ok. Maybe with the backlog for the 2015 applicants they are letting the 1 year validity slide.

Congrats GG, April and Beans! Great news!

Hello,

we applied in March 15 for family sponsorship. I received my work permit in November after we called immigration, because it took so long. In March 16 I was asked for another Medical Exam (I took the first one in August 14). In June 16 I was invited for a landing interview in Toronto. Since we live close to the Manitoba border, I tried to get an interview in Winnipeg, which took another two month. Last Wednesday we had the appointment there and after three questions at the interview I received my permanent resident status. We are so excited

Now I am trying to find out, how I can get my personal belongings sent over to me.

Congrats Yadira! You must be so happy? What three questions did they ask you?

Thanks. Yes, we are.

The three questions were: is my address still the same, was I ever denied entry into Canada and if i had any dependents that were not in my application.

Thanks for your answer. Have a great weekend celebrating.

CIC's processing times page shows that inland applicants should see AIP within 16 months of applying.

I'm just curious whether anyone who applied prior to 16 months ago (May 9th 2016 or before) have spoken to the call centre and been given any further information?
