The Privacy Act gives Canadians the right to access personal information held by the government and protection of that information against unauthorized use and disclosure.

The Access to Information Act gives Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or any person or corporation present in Canada a right to access information that is contained in government records

If you live in Canada and are requesting your own notes, you can request them under the Privacy Act, in which case they will be free. Otherwise you must make your request via the Access to Information Act (this will cost $5). If you are requesting for someone else, a signed consent form from them must be included.

I see people on this forum but on another thread are talking about linking permanent resident application to MyCIC account so that we know more about status of the application and what CIC has proceeded so far. Have you tried that ?

Sept 2015 applicant here.just got DM July 22,2016.may 19 got Sa and Aip requested PcC .sent PcC June 30..

This started today. I was finally able to link mine. Make sure to count the applicant, sponsor and any dependents. (a min. of 2 people). This was the issue for many people, but for me, i had to also not include my passport information for some reason.

This started today. I was finally able to link mine. Make sure to count the applicant, sponsor and any dependents. (a min. of 2 people). This was the issue for many people, but for me, i had to also not include my passport information for some reason.

When it asks you for number of people on the application, try including yourself AND your sponsor - some people, myself included, found that helped.

Yea, I put 2 but it still said couldn't find. it also says it could take time for them to link it. so i will wait till tomorrow and see whether it links or not.

Hi all:

I am an August 2015 applicant inland spousal sponsorship, I got the AOR on April 2016 and I got a letter from them on June 2016 that they want my passport. I sent it and I haven't heard anything from them yet. I checked online, it said application received thats it.

i didnt send any OWP application, and no medical yet.

Is there anybody here that is an August or September 2015 that they already got their PR? or a letter stating that they can apply for OWP?

You can only link the Applicant application (Not sponsor), so yes, use your info. If it's just you and your husband with no dependents, list 2 people.

Not really that much info...It's similar to Ecas, but it's live info instead of updated when ever they click update. As soon as there is a change, we should be able to see it. Here is what mine looks like right now:

Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
Final decision Not Started

They all list a help button next to each line to show what that status means for each section.
