Hi Pacino,

They requested additional documents on June 7th and we sent it via Case Specific Inquiry on the very next day June 8th. Its been more than a month now still waiting for some progress. Although after 3 weeks they did email us saying they received the documents. Hoping to hear something soon.
Thank you !

Hello, I am a June 2015 applicant and still in limbo with regards to my hubby's sponsorship application. When I ordered for the GCMS notes, there was a note #2 saying: application requires closer review.. Should I be worried? are they doubting the legitness of our marriage?

Unfortunately, it appears that there may be a concern with the relationship.

It was dated 6/17/2016 and there has been no communication from CIC yet.. Actual text is ***Review Required***- Application identified as part of the 2016 inventory reduction exercise for certain Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada applications. Application requires closer review.

What do you think should I do or prepare for?

Hi Guys,

I checked online status and it changed to Decision Made today for my husband since we received SA July 18. But only I got SA email from CIC, my husband received nothing even AIP from CIC so far. Is it normal process?
When we can expect the offical letter from CIC?

I am canadian citizen living in Colombia with conjugal partner. we are not married planning to, and we have a child 18 months old. I wanna take them to canada and live in alberta. I see this new application inland I can sponsor them there but alsosays if they live with me. My question is to get them to canada before the application, they have to do a visitor visa or temporary resident permit holder. what ar my options here. thank you.

If you are living with your partner, you cannot file a conjugal partner sponsorship application, because there is nothing preventing you from living together. You will need to live together for one full year (and gather proof) and then submit a common-law sponsorship application, or get married.

Can you walk me through how you requested the notes? I want to put in the request but there are lots of steps and don't want to make a mistake. Do I make one request for my own file and one request for my fiancés file?

Thank you

So then you are common-law partners, not conjugal partners.

You'll need solid proof of cohabiting if you want to apply for sponsorship; things like joint lease/rental agreement (if renting), joint utility bills, joint cell phone plan, mail being delivered to each/both of you over a period of time, that is more than one year total, etc.

Or...wait until you are married. You won't need as much proof.

Good luck!
