Unless things have changed, CIC requires originals. There's no harm in sending a copy via CSE, just so CIC knows that you have it, and then send the original.

Include the application/file number and your UCI number of the cover letter, so that CIC/CPC can match it to your file.

The letter says to send it to Vegreville, what address can we use? Can I FedEx it? I am concerned about the postal strike.

Is there a way for me to change my email address with CIC? I see a change of address when I log in but it seems to only be a physical address.

hi,
when we applied for permanent residency,my status in Canada was as a student, but after 4 months of my application, i got my post graduate work permit,so my status changed from student to worker.
Do I need to notify CIC about my change of status?

yesterday only we received sponsor approval.we are applicant of21 dec 2015

So I'm curious, has anyone actually complained to their MP recently AND heard back regarding the March-August 2015 applications?

I know people keep saying this happens every year etc etc but the fact is that this sucks. I popped over to the 2016 Inland thread earlier, and literally the first post I saw was a March 2016 applicant that got SA already.

I find it incredibly tough to swallow that as a May 2016 applicant I would have been better off applying in November and it only gets more frustrating with every passing day. /endrant

I saw that someone went to their MP with this Inland spreadsheet pointing out what was happening. The MP disregarded it because it isn't a government document so "doesn't prove anything." So frustrating.

hi everyone, Nov 2015 applicant here June 2 med request, i did my medical June 8 , I have 2 dependents my kids, I haven't receive their medical request, is it normal? It's more than a month after they request my medical, is anyone there had same situation as mine?? Please share, thanks

Just a thought on the 2016 sponsors getting approval - CIC has stated they are changing the way things are done...and that for applications received before June 13, 2016 they are part of the reduction efforts. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2016/ob624.asp

My thought is that maybe one of the changes is starting to process the sponsors separate like they do with outland applicants.

With the exception of a strange Feb 2016 applicant that shows they got AIP in June (assuming mistake or an outland app)....only SA's have been issued, where usually SA and AIP fall within the same day.

A new CIC operational bulletin was released regarding the pending Canada Post Strike... view details here:

MP Jenny Kwan actually addressed it at CIMM Meeting No. 19, but time cut out and she didn't get an answer. I don't believe they've addressed it yet.

REPOSTING

Hello Everyone,

I have a interview set for July 13 for my PR landing on spousal sponsorship application. I understand it takes between a month or two to receive the PR card in mail. My question is, is it advisable to travel out of country before receiving the PR card? I have a valid canadian visa and work permit.

I'd really appreciate if someone could enlighten me on this. Thanks :)

I think someone did their landing a few days ago and the officer advised them against travelling before they receive their PR card.

First of all thank you very much Sophiee and everyone here.I did the landing today at Etibicoke Office. As we went inside we were asked appointment letter at reception,We waited for an hour to get our token number. After I was asked to give passport.Later they compared two of our drivers license(I think to make sure we are living together),Later they asked my wife about she still wanted to sponsor, then general Criminality admission question to me and last entry and orginal entry to Canada,Have I been deported,Have I been refused entry. I told her I got visa rejected like 10 years ago,She said that doesnt matter just the entry to Canada. thats it she said Congragulations you are now a permanent resident of Canada,I still have condition 51 for 2 years continous relationship,Thats the only condition.

I did asked about travel without PR she said its possible with Travel document by road,And she did crossed of all my earlier visa's in the passport,Although I asked her not to cross off,She said it needs to be crossed.A long wait has come to end.I waited for 8 years :)

I wish you all a good luck,Hope we all get through sooner. I will keep u guys and girls posted when my PR card arrives.
