Do i need to get criminal record check which include finger printing or not needed unless it is requested? please advice/explain...thanks...

So paranoid me keeps checking ECAS and today it says "Decision Made".

When I click it, it says the following:

We received ### ###'s application for permanent residence on November 6, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

I'm hoping this is good news. What comes next??

Congratulations. Now just wait for the landing appointment and then you are done. :)

Are you serious? We were expecting another 1.5 year wait?!

Will the landing appointment be sent by mail or husband's email?

It's usually sent to the email address of the applicant, unless you are using a representative.

My husband, the applicant, has received nothing so far... guess we will keep waiting!

Do you (or anyone) know if there are landing offices in Atlantic Canada? We are in PEI and it will be a bit of a challenge to travel too far on short notice.

Yay! Congrats to you. Guess you will be landing soon.

I am thinking about doing my medical upfront as I am an April 2015 applicant and should hopefully hear something soon. How do I know where to go to get it done? How much does it cost? What information will they need from me?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/index.asp

On the CIC website you'll find a list of panel physicians in your area. You have to go to one of these doctors to have the medical done. You'll just tell the doctor you're doing your medical up front. You have to bring your passport and your UCI and file number. The cost varies by clinic. I had mine done in Toronto and it came to about $220.00 all said and done.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know why all applications from September, October and November 2015 have received 'Sponsor Approval', but not April to August applications?

I called CIC today. No clear response!!!

It seems there's no rhyme or reason to how CIC processes applications. I, myself, am a November 2015 applicant and I received DM earlier this week. I was prepared for a much longer wait!

Congrats! I have submitted my application in May 2015. But still I have not heard anything back from them :( Another weird behavior from CIC!

Do you think there is any value in having it done upfront? Would it draw attention to your application?

I did not do my medical up front, I waited until it was requested. However, I'm a November 2015 applicant and I've already received DM, so my situation seems to be a bit unusual.

Doing your medical up front would not draw any negative attention to your file in any way. Lots of people do their medicals after submitting the app but before receiving AIP. It would be good to do your medical up front so that you don't have to wait any longer than you already have. When they request your medical, they give you 30 days to complete it. My doctor told me that they would receive my results in 5-10 days but that I likely wouldn't hear from CIC for maybe 2-3 months. If you do your medical up front, you have the chance of receiving AIP, SA and DM all in one go.

Is the Decision-Made shown in the Sponsor's summary box or the Applicant's box?
If it shows in the Sponsor's box, it's an update relevant to the SP, you still have to wait a bit for the Applicant's DM email which I believe would be very soon.
